We travel to Eastbourne this week as we face parkfield.

Looking to build off our impressive first result, we’re aiming to add more points to the table.

Match report!

Our first game of the new season was quite the one sided game.
With a strong side, it was never a match for Sedlescombe.
We started off strong creating chance after chance but couldn’t quite seem to get the finishing touch, until Luke found himself weaving round a couple defenders to create the space to trivela the ball in to the bottom corner, giving us a well deserved lead. 1-0
Chances continued to go begging, and frustration was kicking in as we knew we were well ahead of our opponents and deserved to have a much bigger lead.
But, footballs a funny game as we all know and with 10 seconds of the first half left, we saw a Sedlescombe have a penalty. Our own mistakes once again gave Sedlescombe an undeserved lifeline which they converted.

HT 1-1

Second half came and it was an almost instant reply when a training drill came to life with captain Penney heading home a free kick to regain our lead. 2-1
Again almost immediately, we got another with Will finding the net, and then another when Ricky slotted home. 4-1
The second half, we showed a lot of character and heart, when we could of easily crumbled after losing our lead right before half time, but we didn’t, we went back out there, played our game and showed how much we wanted it more and our quality will overcome little setbacks.
And it was capped off with a 5th of the afternoon when a quick counter found Miguel getting on the scoresheet. 5-1

FT 5-1

Brilliant way to kick off the season and a brilliant, well deserved result.

Man of the match went to Adam Gerken this week. He well and truly must have touched every blade of grass on that pitch. From throwing in tackles at the back to playing balls through, he was everywhere and showed his quality throughout. Well done mate.

We move on to next week where we travel to Eastbourne to face parkfield.

So it begins!

This Saturday we host Sedlescombe rangers in the first game of the season.

Looking to kick the season off with a win and 3 points on the table.

Match report!

It was raining goals for us this week against pass and move with a great display to cap off our preseason.

It all started with Luke gasson who’s relentless pressure paid off when he forced a mistake from the defense and put us 1-0 up.

It didn’t take long before Jamie then doubled and tripled that lead with some composed finishes. 3-0

Just before the half, we thought we had our fourth when Nicky headed home from a free kick, but with a questionable decision it was called for offside.

HT 3-0

A few changes at half time did not change the way we played whatsoever with us going straight back out and getting a well deserved 4th from a composed finish from Matty.

The goals kept coming in the 2nd half with Matty getting a 2nd for himself, Jamie finishing his hat trick, Brandon converting a well taken penalty, and Seb heading home to give us an 8-0 lead.

A quiet day for the defence and keeper but doing what was asked when they needed too.

All round a great performance to cap off our preseason and to give us something to build on going into the for the first game of the season next week against Sedlescombe.

Man of the match went to Jamie this week, who bagged himself a hat trick of great finishes and was a menace to our opponents defence.

Match report!

For the 2nd year running. The cocker cup is ours!

It was a rather strange game in the sense that on any other day we may well have had 5/6 goals, but unfortunately football can work in mysterious ways, and despite us being well on top, we were held to a draw.

Our defense kept the 2nds quiet all game and that resulted in them only having 1 shot that flew over the bar, whereas going forward we created chance after chance and just couldn’t seem to find the net. From headers just above the bar to volley’s narrowly wide, luck just seemed to be against us in front of goal.

FT 0-0

Penalties.

With Brandon, Will, Jamie, and captain Penney, stepping up and converting. And the 2nds having missed 1.
It was down to Nick to slot his away to give us the win. And that’s what he did.
Calmly slotting his penalty in the bottom left corner right out of reach and colliding with the post on its way in.

5-4 win on pens.

We hosted hollington this afternoon in a good battle.
With them finding an early lead through yet another avoidable mistake, we found ourselves fighting to get back into the game. We were playing some good football just couldn’t seem to get the final touches right.

We went into half time 1-0 down.

2nd half and we came out with a point to prove and a game to turn around.
With some more great football we found our equaliser through a composed finish by Will.

We kept hollington at bay for a lot of the game and when there chances did come, it didn’t threaten too much.

We pushed to get the winner but just couldn’t get a clear cut chance.

FT 1-1

Man of the match went to Will this week after a superb performance and a great goal to get us back into the game.

It’s hard to believe that nearly two years have passed since we opened our doors with just four passionate team members and a dream of providing exceptional veterinary care to our local community.

Match report!

Much better performance than last week but still not quite the level we know we can reach.

1-1 draw to catsfield.

In a game we were had 15+ attempts but just couldn’t seem to find the net, we kept catsfield at bay for majority of the game giving them limited chances but they managed to somehow find the net after an awkward clearance found one of the opponents boots.

Ryan Penney picked up man of the match this time out as he took one for the team playing the full 90 at Centre back. And what a performance he gave. Not a foot wrong and didn’t give the catsfield attack much at all.

Well done mate!
