Good morning all. Sad news for Rye Longbow. We can no longer shoot up at Leasham Farm and currently looking for a new home. If anyone has any ideas or can provide a field for us to shoot, I will maintain it. Cut the grass etc for free. I have been looking at a few sites but no joy so far. Any help or surgestions would be appreciated.

Hello fellow Archers. Just got back on F book after a while away. They made it so difficult to get back on. Still not working properly. Why the 33FSB! Did they change it? It was perfectly fine as it was. Must have been something I said? As of today I have some important news regarding the future of our club. I will post it shortly when I have discussed it with our very few members we now have left. A great shame but I'm sure we will find a way to regroup. I will do my best. Please do look out for updates and pray it stops bloody raining. Best wishes to all.

Blimey. Finally got Facebook to work properly again. Why do they keep messing with It? Not been doing much shooting for a while as weather has mostly been crap for what seems like a couple of months now. Let's hope it improves. Last shoot we had was a couple of weeks ago. Bruce, Freddie and myself. Just did some clout at a ridiculasly short distance. Bruce came out top on points by a significant margin. We had 2 ends at the Hand but failed to get a direct hit. Out of practice I guess. Let's hope next year brings some sunshine. Wishing all our followers and members a very Happy Christmas and all best wishes for 2023. Have fun. Regards. Tim.

Hi Fellow archers. Apologies for the lack of recent posts. Weather of late has been often crappy on Sunday's plus I've had work commitments followed by some kind of a nasty bacterial or fungal skin situation which stopped me shooting. And NO! it wasn't Monkey Pox. Bloody annoying though. Ended up on a 3 week course of antibiotics and massive daily doses of steroids. Virtually all healed up now. Was looking forward to shooting this morning but it pi**ed down again. Phill, Tony, Bruce and Freddie have been getting a few sessions in in between the weather events. No pics sent to me to post. Fingers crossed for next Sunday. Bye for now.

Evening followers. Hope you are all well. 2 weeks of shooting posts to catch up on. A fortnight ago it was Bruce, Isabella, Freddie and me. We did an afternoon shoot and Phill shot with Tony in the morning. We Just did clout and double ended target stuff. I seem to remember Bruce won the day with top overall score. Can't remember by how much. Perhaps Bruce you could clarify that?
Last Sunday it was Tony, Phill and myself. We all shot pretty well with some good scores. Finally it was Phill and me jousting for best score on the final end after nearly a 3 hour shoot. I pinched it by just 5 punts difference to get best overall clout and target score. We shot the Rat at 30 yards as a final decider but I failed to hit it with my 1st 6 arrows so Phil up next nailed it I think with his 3rd Arrow So took the winner of the day prize. Well done Phil. More fun next Sunday. Bye for now.

Hello fellow archers and followers. An update on recent shooting: I missed a fortnight ago as I had to work but Tony brought along a guest that had a good time. Can’t find the pic I was sent currently. I’ll post it another time. We always welcome folk that fancy having a crack at it. Last Sundays shoot was Phil,Tony, Bruce and Myself. Bruce trounced us all on the target with a great overall target score. I was shooting total crap on the targets but got best score on the clout. Bruce was first up up on the ‘Hand’ with best overall combined target and clout score and nailed it with his 4th arrow so it’s now ‘The Hand of Bruce’ Well done! I’ll be back!!!! Phil and Tony did well on the target too but bombed out on the clout shooting. Here’s a few pics. Sorry Bruce your pic has come out sideways for some reason. FB does not like me. Makes it so difficult for me to post anything.

Had nice shoot on Sunday. Nice weather and company. Phill, Bruce and myself. 120 yard clout and 30 yard target butt. I got total overall best score by a good margin. We didn't put the 'Hand' out but settled the day on 6 arrows at target butt. Having shot pretty well earlier I totally bombed out on final shoot out. Dare I admit I totally missed the whole f'!!! ing butt with all 6 arrows. I can't remember ever having done that. I must have been shooting for the UK at the eurovision archery contest and got nill poi's. Bruce pulled out a great effort at the end and won the day. Well done Bruce. How can I regularly hit a hand at 30 yards and totally miss a huge standard archery butt with all 6 arrows that I was banging them in at all morning? Must have had a sudden attack of global warming, covaids or monkey pox. The 'Hand' is still mine for now. See you all next week.

Hello Fellow archers and followers. Sorry for the lack of resent posts. We have been shooting. I’ve just been really busy and lots going on and simply not had the chance to post stuff and had continual issues with Farce Book which hasn’t helped. Rye Longbow is a subsidiary of my own personal FB account and I often get struck off for telling the truth as usual. Here’s an update: Not many people turning up on a Sunday over the last month. People on holiday and otherwise busy doing other stuff and field grass got really long as well so we were mainly just doing long distance clout shooting. Mainly just Bruce and myself but Isabella, Peter and Freddie popped along one time which was nice. Bruce and I always have a competitive spirit and battle on each shoot we do. He said I failed to post his last hit on the ‘Hand’ I thought I had posted that. It would seem that Bruce and I have good days and bad days but usually a close thing I won by just one point a couple of weeks ago on the clout and the following week Bruce trounced me by a mile. I would have to say I am ahead currently overall. All good fun. Had a nice shoot yesterday afternoon. Bruce, Isabella, Phill and your host ‘Me’ and welcomed a new chap Tony who had never shot before. We gave him some tuition and he was away. He shot extremely well for a first timer. In at the deep end. The best way in my opinion. Yesterday we had various targets @ 40 and 50 yards and clout box stuff @ 120 yards, Plus the Final ‘Hand’ at 30 yards. I won the day on overall points and we did the 30 yard ‘Hand’ in reverse order so worst overall score got first crack at 6 arrows at it. Lots of close ones but no hits until I got the final go as nobody had got a hit. Phill apparently had a bouncer; he needs to sharpen his arrows. Bouncers don’t count. I nailed it on my last arrow so I guess it’s the ‘Hand of Tim’ again until next time. I have some pics that I will post when I get time. Lovely shoot yesterday, great weather (don’t tell Greta) She’ll have a heart attack.
