Hello Fellow archers and followers. Sorry for the lack of resent posts. We have been shooting. I’ve just been really busy and lots going on and simply not had the chance to post stuff and had continual issues with Farce Book which hasn’t helped. Rye Longbow is a subsidiary of my own personal FB account and I often get struck off for telling the truth as usual. Here’s an update: Not many people turning up on a Sunday over the last month. People on holiday and otherwise busy doing other stuff and field grass got really long as well so we were mainly just doing long distance clout shooting. Mainly just Bruce and myself but Isabella, Peter and Freddie popped along one time which was nice. Bruce and I always have a competitive spirit and battle on each shoot we do. He said I failed to post his last hit on the ‘Hand’ I thought I had posted that. It would seem that Bruce and I have good days and bad days but usually a close thing I won by just one point a couple of weeks ago on the clout and the following week Bruce trounced me by a mile. I would have to say I am ahead currently overall. All good fun. Had a nice shoot yesterday afternoon. Bruce, Isabella, Phill and your host ‘Me’ and welcomed a new chap Tony who had never shot before. We gave him some tuition and he was away. He shot extremely well for a first timer. In at the deep end. The best way in my opinion. Yesterday we had various targets @ 40 and 50 yards and clout box stuff @ 120 yards, Plus the Final ‘Hand’ at 30 yards. I won the day on overall points and we did the 30 yard ‘Hand’ in reverse order so worst overall score got first crack at 6 arrows at it. Lots of close ones but no hits until I got the final go as nobody had got a hit. Phill apparently had a bouncer; he needs to sharpen his arrows. Bouncers don’t count. I nailed it on my last arrow so I guess it’s the ‘Hand of Tim’ again until next time. I have some pics that I will post when I get time. Lovely shoot yesterday, great weather (don’t tell Greta) She’ll have a heart attack.
