What a day for our Junior Closed Tournament!

For the second year running, our juniors took over the grass courts, with 23 players competing across Yellow, Orange and Red Ball tournaments - up from 16 players last year.

Congratulations to our 2026 winners:

Boys’ Singles - Finnian
Girls’ Singles - Melian
Red Ball - Camelia
Orange Ball - Ingrid

There was some incredible tennis throughout the day, including two dramatic 10–9 sudden-death finishes in the Boys’ competition, as well as our first-ever Red Ball final.

A huge well done to everyone who played and thank you to all the parents, supporters and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

The sun shone on 40 players from across the South East who turned out to bid farewell to the grass courts for 2026. ☀️

It was a great testament to the hard work and dedication of Adam Stunt and Freddie Menzies that the courts were playing beautifully even at this late stage of the season. The courts were at capacity and alive with spirited play, with some emerging victorious but all having fun!

An honourable mention to David Wallis, who book-ended the season by winning the Opening of the Grass Tournament in June with his wife Katy, and the Closing of the Grass in September with his daughter Lucy! 🏆

🎾 What a summer at Rye Lawn Tennis Club!

An amazing 242 children joined us for our summer tennis and multi-sports camps, with plenty of tennis, padel, squash, rounders and more.

We had some seriously hot days too, so water breaks, ice lollies and a few epic water fights were definitely needed! ☀️💦

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the camps such a success. It was brilliant to see so many smiles, new friendships and plenty of fun on court.

Next up… October Half-Term Camp, 26th–30th October. We hope to see lots of familiar faces back at the club! 🎾

Our Junior Closed Tournament takes place this Sunday 13th September on the grass courts. 🎾

Open to all under-18 members, from Red Ball U8s through to Yellow Ball U18s.

To enter, please email [email protected] and we’ll allocate a playing time between 1pm and 3pm.

We’d love to see plenty of our juniors out on the grass for an afternoon of competitive tennis!

Join us for the Closing Grass Court Tournament and help us round off the 2026 grass season with a fun afternoon of mixed doubles.

very successful Mexicano tournament last Sunday was attended by 32 keen members who played with great enthusiasm and skill. Thanks to all who took part, brought amazing cakes and joined in the fun.

The winner of the first group was Grant and winner of second group Stuart.

We are so lucky to have such friendly, fun participants who make new players welcome and help out with the organisation of events.

Another Mexicano will be held on 20th September so look out for the entry form.

Open to all levels, from beginners through to advanced players. Enter individually and we’ll group you with players of a similar ability.

A brilliant day of tennis on Sunday 9th August wrapped up a magnificent ten days at the Club! ☀️

Congratulations to all our winners and runners-up, and a huge thank you to everyone who took part and made it such an entertaining day.

Special thanks to Tom Meyer for keeping everyone fuelled with a delicious BBQ and ice cream, and to David Goddard and Charlotte Draper for organising the event. 👏

A record turnout for the annual Farmer Tennis Tournament on Saturday 8th August, with 48 couples taking to the courts in glorious 26-degree sunshine! 🎾☀️

After some fantastic tennis, A-section winners Vicki Lowe & Scott Brotherton, B-section winners Georgina Stephenson & Freddie Whitfield, C-section winners Herbie Stephenson & Phoebe Bennie, and D-section winners Imogen Ansell & Louis Gordon Clark battled it out in the semi-finals.

Georgina & Freddie went on to beat Imogen & Louis 6–2 in the final to take the title! 🏆

A brilliant day, helped along by lunch and tea from Katie Ashby and her team - and plenty of rosé and Pimm’s, of course! 🥂
