🎾 Summer Tournament Week is nearly here!

Following the Rye Open, we've got a full week of club tournaments coming up:

• Two Generation Tournament – Tuesday 4th August
• Junior Tournament – 5th–7th August
• Farmer Mixed Doubles – Saturday 8th August
• Closed Tournament (members only) – Sunday 9th August

Whether you're partnering with family, taking part in the juniors, or enjoying a day of doubles with friends, we'd love to see you on court.

Entries are now open for most events, with booking for the Closed Tournament opening soon.

🎾🇫🇷 A fantastic morning of tennis at our French Open Tournament on Sunday!

Sixteen players took to the courts for three hours of brilliant doubles tennis, with impressive rallies, closely fought points, and a great atmosphere throughout the event. 👏

A special mention goes to our youngest competitor, aged just 10, who played with incredible enthusiasm and skill alongside some very experienced players! ⭐

Congratulations to Tina for winning the opening competition, and to Tom for lifting the coveted Coupe de Grenouille trophy 🏆🐸

To top it all off, players enjoyed fresh croissants and coffee in the clubhouse afterwards - the perfect French Open touch! ☕🥐

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the morning such a success. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and support made it a memorable event for all involved.

On Sunday 31st May, club coaches Mark and Ewan undertook a 13-hour padel marathon - facing a rotating lineup of members from 8am to 9pm to raise money for the Poole Field Fund and the new development.

They completed the challenge and were still standing at the end of the day thanks to the support and generosity of all those that took part and that came to support them.

They have so far raised just over £1700 but you can still donate using the link on the ‘Padel Marathon’ events page. Let’s make it £2000!

🎾☀️ A perfect day for the 2026 Opening Grass Court Tournament at Rye.

Blue skies, immaculate courts prepared by Freddie and Adam, brilliant tennis, and plenty of drama throughout the day. Huge congratulations to Charlotte Draper & Johnnie Owen, Alejandra Botbol & Tommoso Nocchi, and of course the Wallises, who edged a thrilling final match to take the prestigious Inflatable Rother Cup 🏆

Brains were sharpened, glasses were raised, and the competition was fierce at our Club Quiz Night on Saturday 11th April 🧠🍷

Ten teams packed into the clubhouse to take on the devilishly tricky questions of our new quizmaster, Phil “The Riddler” Harper, whose grand entrance in green and bowler hat set the tone for a brilliant evening.

From geography stumpers to music, literature, celebrity voices, pop culture and sport, teams battled it out through every round. Special mention to the younger Jempson clan members, whose Taylor Swift and Charli XCX knowledge helped rescue their elders more than once 👏🎶

After a dramatic tie-break, it was Backseat Drivers, captained by Claire Myatt, who claimed victory by guessing closest to the height of the Eiffel Tower 🏆

A fantastic night full of laughs, teamwork and healthy competition. Thank you to everyone who joined us - we can’t wait for the next one!

With glitter balls and disco lights, Jane A and her team brought a heady mix of Seventies disco and Greek Taverna to the clubhouse on Saturday 28th March.

There were flares and sequins galore as guests tucked in to the authentic selection of Greek mezze, including delicious home-made spanakopita and a selection of dips and breads. The soundtrack to the evening was ABBA through the ages, mixed with clips from Mamma Mia and even a glimpse of Zorba the Greek and Demis Roussos - no clichés were left unturned as guests polished off their Prosecco and hit the dance floor.

It was agreed by all that the team (particular shout-out to Jo, Mags, Jackie and Sally) had done an amazing job transforming the clubhouse and laying on a great spread for the 60 guests, with profits going to the Poole Field Fund.

Half Term Tennis Camp – What a Week! 🎾

We had a fantastic two days at our Half Term Camp, with 20 children enjoying an action-packed programme of tennis, padel, squash and table tennis.

The weather kept us guessing – sunshine, rain and even a dramatic thunderstorm! ⛈️ But the energy and enthusiasm never dropped, with everyone embracing the challenge with smiles on their faces.

Across the two days there were plenty of matches, team competitions and fun games. It was brilliant to see skills improving, confidence growing and new friendships forming across all four sports.

Most importantly, everyone had lots of fun – which is what our camps are all about.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for our Easter Camps. See you on court soon! 🎾
