WEEKEND RESULTS

This weekend didn’t yield the 30 points we were hoping for but did see some hard fought matches and memorable moments.

1st XI - agonisingly lost by 1 wicket, conceding the winning runs in the final over after a 65 not out from Shaddy Shawarira (sponsored by Samson Holder Joinery) help post 214. Ollie Morris (sponsored by R. Barker (Tarring) Ltd.) the pick of the bowlers with 3-45.

2nd XI - kept up their winning streak by defeating Eastergate by 91 runs. Mish Patel (sponsored by RGM Joinery Sussex ltd opened the batting and posted 76 runs and was aided by Matt Reynolds (sponsored by Car Leasing) who scored 56 runs. They then bowled Eastergate out for 128 with 6 overs to spare with Bhavesh Prabhakar (currently unsponsored) taking 5-45 in his first appearance of the season.

3rd XI - Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be this week and we lost by 66 runs after a fantastic bowling fielding display. Matthew Lehmann (sponsored by SB Financial Solutions) got 3-40 and a run out with a direct hit and Alex Neil-Smith ( sponsored RJ Neil-Smith Home Developments) with 2-16 and 2 catches. He then back this up with a confident 35 runs.

We go again next week looking for 3 wins out of 3.

All three sides are back in action on Saturday after last week’s washout!
1st XI: Away at Goodwood vs Chichester, still chasing that first win of the season.
2nd XI: Home to Eastergate in a rerun of last year’s promotion clash, aiming to keep the winning streak rolling.
3rd XI: Short trip to Goring after a two-week break, hungry for their first win.
