🪷 BECAUSE NOTHING LASTS, EVERYTHING IS SACRED
One of the deepest teachings in Buddhism is impermanence.
Everything changes.
The seasons change.
Our bodies change.
Relationships change.
Circumstances change.
Joy comes and goes.
Sorrow comes and goes.
Even the moments we wish we could hold onto forever are already becoming memories.
At first, impermanence can feel unsettling.
We naturally want to keep what we love close. We want beautiful moments to remain. We want certainty where life continually reminds us that nothing stays exactly the same.
But there is another side to impermanence.
Because this moment will not last, this moment matters.
Because the people we love will not always be beside us in exactly the same way, we are invited to love them while they are here.
Because life continually changes, we are reminded not to postpone gratitude, kindness, forgiveness, presence or joy.
Impermanence does not ask us to love life less.
It teaches us to love life more consciously.
To notice the ordinary moments.
To say what needs to be said.
To appreciate what is here without demanding that it remain forever.
And when difficult seasons arrive, impermanence offers another quiet truth:
This, too, will change.
So today, perhaps we can hold life a little more gently.
Cherish what is here.
Release what has passed.
And meet this precious, fleeting moment with an open heart.
Because nothing lasts, everything is sacred.
May we live with presence.
May we love with tenderness.
May we remember the preciousness of now. 🪷
