So it was our last game yesterday and unfortunately half of the team weren’t able to be there to celebrate the last POM which I’m absolutely gutted about 😭 because we definitely would not have let this moment go with out HUGE recognition and probably a lift on to our shoulders like we’d won the Super Bowl 🤣 🏈
We’d like to give a huge round of applause 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
and heap tonnes of praise on to this Little Rock Star shooter who, despite having 3 little ones, and enduring a house move, she is one of our most reliable players.
She is always up against a much taller defender being 4ft something 😉😂
She always gives 100% and keeps her motivation high.
She has been the biggest cheerleader for every single person who has played in the team who has previously walked away with the accolade, and now, it’s her turn…..….. 🥁🥁🥁

This little super star only went and passed her England Netball Level 1 Coaching Award at the weekend.
How lucky are we to have her as part of our team, I could not be more proud of her, now let’s get some training sessions booked in and use her knowledge

WIN 23-11

Well we finally got the win, our first win in what feels like forever.
This game, we were strong, controlled and organised, we communicated, defenders were vigilant and our shooters were confident and it all came together, where we won every quarter to finish this season with a well deserved win.

She’s back, great movement and goals on point, you’ve had an amazing season, well done hun 👏🏻👏🏻

2 months facing losses and still leaving the court with smiles on our faces. 2 months of covering injuries and holidays, just praying we had at least 7 players and sometimes we didn’t. After a strong first season finishing second, it took a big mind set shift to keep our heads up, continue playing our best and giving it our all, even when for most games we were losing.

That’s the Valkyries spirit, we don’t lose, we learn, and we’ve learnt so much.
I couldn’t be more proud of you all.

Loss 12-20

Not the best start to June we could have wished for, but we gave it our best shot, it’s was difficult with just 7 players and not having fresh legs to bring on when we needed it.
Defensively we needed to be strong and it was so nice having Sarah back in the D, Amy also smashed it as WD running up and down the court, we made a good trio.
These young girls playing against us though, were so good and we’ve watched them improve week in week out. Would we like to have beaten them maybe just once this season? Yes of course we would have, but honestly it’s been so nice watching their journey into the senior league, and they’re all such lovely talented young ladies.

Ever so grateful for the recognition, the GS definitely kept me on my toes. It was a group effort though and we all worked together to try and stop the girls increasing their lead on us 👏🏻👏🏻

Sarah - GD
Worked so hard in the end third and slotted straight into position after not playing it for some time. Always reading the game and trying to remain one step ahead, we made a good partnership 👏🏻👏🏻

We’ve had lots of injuries, holidays and changes this season, but we’ve adapted, invited new people to join us, some to just help us out, and we’ve kept going. We’ve always turned up, and have always given it 100%, it’s just not been enough this time around, but we remain positive.

Loss 18-20

First match after a bank holiday break, and a really well matched game actually, when we were down our usual GA, and some players were fresh back from injury, so we didn’t expect it to be so close. We won the second quarter but it wasn’t quite enough to take the lead and they kept us 2 behind the whole way.

Put in a shift for this game, cracked on in mid court, and pitched herself in the D to take up the space, she always leaves her mark. Well done 👏🏻👏🏻

💫 Captains Player 💫
Laura - GS
Had to adjust her game, playing alongside a different GA, and I think she linked up really well, created some good passing options and always took her shot. Confidence definitely growing 👏🏻👏🏻

We all gave it 100% and everyone played their best, we had fun, and enjoyed it, and that’s the main thing.
