Our family orientated club was founded in 2019 to provide players from our local community with a Club that provides a player progression pathway from Reception Class into Adult Open Age football, following England Football Accredited Club guides to lead by example. Raising the bar and flying the flag for respect and diversity.

🎉 7 YEARS OF RUNCORN SAXONS FC 🎉

Today, 23rd August 2026, we celebrate the official birth and first FA Affiliation of Runcorn Saxons FC. ⚽️

It all started with an idea, a shared vision and an agreement around a kitchen table in Penrhyn Crescent, with just 12 founding players forming our very first team, an U13s CWENS Girls team.

Fast forward 7 years… and just look at what that little idea has become. 🥹

⚽ 220+ players aged from 6 to Open Age
👧 Boys & Girls football
🙌 39 dedicated volunteers
🏆 U18s & Open Age football
🚶‍♀️ Walking Football
🏫 3 strong school partnerships
🌱 3G facilities for matches & training
❤️ And, most importantly, a football club that still proudly maintains its family feel and community ethos.

Our purpose has always been simple:

To provide our community with association football in a structured, supportive and fun environment, giving people the opportunity to play, develop, belong and enjoy the game.

From 12 founding players around a kitchen table to 220+ players, dozens of volunteers and a whole Saxons family — what a journey it has been.

And we’re only just getting started…
