Budding archaeologists, ‘The Big Dig’ need you! On Saturday 31st August the Runcorn Locks Restoration Society are hosting an event, with our support, where you can get involved in Reconnecting Runcorn’s Unlock Runcorn project.

At the event the excavations will aim to expose some of the original canal structures where the two lines of the locks met between the railway viaduct and Percival Lane known as the “bull nose”

This event is open to everyone and is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the history of the buried canal structures archaeology as well as an update for the project’s wider plans.
