A massive THANK YOU from everyone at Runcorn Cricket Club to all our members, supporters, visitors, and sponsors who helped make our Paint Cricket Pink event such an incredible success!

Together, we raised an amazing £1,260.99 for Prevent Breast Cancer—the Cheshire County Cricket League’s Official 2026 Charity. 🎗️💗

Every raffle ticket bought, every cake eaten, burger scoffed, gin sipped, and every donation made played a huge part in reaching this total. Your generosity and community spirit make all the difference.

Sunday’s paint cricket pink weekend 🎀🎗, finished with the Rebels final home game of the season vs Chester.
Winning the toss 🪙, for a change..they decided to bowl.
Cassie & Nicola opened the bowling but no wickets fell in the opening 6 overs. Sarah & Izzi bowled the next spell and Izzi took the opening wicket in the 8th over bowling out the batter. Sarah had an economical spell and was unlucky on a few occasions not to take a wicket. In the 13th over Runcorn took the 2nd wicket with a run out from Cassie. Jenny & Jamie managed to slow the scoring down for 6 overs then with no further wickets being taken. Nicola came back on for her 2nd spell and took the 3rd wicket with her first ball of the 20th over. The 4th wicket came in Nic’s next over, with lbw given. The final 2 wickets were taken by Izzi in the 26th over, both bowled.
Chesters final score came to 174/6. 👏🏼

After a good performance in the field, the batting didn’t go to plan!! 🫣⬇️🪰 Sarah was out in the opening over after starting off well hitting 2 boundaries. The 3rd over saw Andie & Izzi both lose their wickets. And then Chelle & Nicola were both out in the 4th over. Steph & the hobbling Sam (knee injury) managed to get through 2 more overs before Sam was out in the 6th. Jenny was next in before she was unfortunately run out with the last ball of the 9th over. Nicole then joined Steph for a few overs. Steph managed to stay in till she was bowled in the 13th over after scoring half of the entire teams score with 25. Cassie got out in the following over and Nicole was last out in the 16th over. Final score 53 all out!!

We must say a massive Well done to Chester for their title winning season🎉👏🏼🏆.

The Rebels have 1 game to go, away at Oakmere. With a win there, will guarantee them a 2nd place finish. Not bad atall for their first season in a higher league. So good luck and well done to all!

The Rebels were back on the road yesterday as they travelled to Nantwich through the rain 🌧.
Runcorn lost the toss 🪙 and where put into bat 🏏.
Andie&Sarah opened the batting & got off to a promising start. Steady scoring saw the Rebels get to 21 before Sarah was caught on the boundary with a cracking shot, scoring 11. Andie was then bowled out in the 7th over. Sam&Chelle where up next, but their shots kept finding the fielders, so they couldn’t quite get the scoreboard ticking. Both losing their wickets in overs 10 & 11 with the score on 37/4, Izzi was in at 5 & StephW at 6. Izzi was caught in the 12th over, bringing Ellie into bat. Ellie was bowled with the score on 47/6. Nicola then joined StephW in the middle at the halfway point of the innings. Both batted well & got Runcorn back into the game. A partnership of 78 with Nicola scoring 46, got the score to 125. StephW was then out lbw, before the loss of the final 3 wickets in one over. Final score 126 all out.

Time to field & it didn’t take Runcorn long to get the 1st wicket. 3rd ball of Sarah’s 1st over, hitting middle stump. Sarah also got the 2nd wicket in the 5th over, again bowling out the batter with the score on 19/2. Then came some economical bowling by Izzi & Cassie which slowed the scoring down. The next wickets didn’t fall until the 14th over with Nicola taking 2, bowling 1 & Sam taking a close catch for the other. At the halfway stage of the innings, Nantwich were on 63/4! Exactly half our score. Nicola took her 3rd wicket in the 16th over trapping the batter lbw. The 6th wicket then came from Cassie’s bowling in over 23. Sam then took a wicket in the next over with the score on 90/7. With the scores getting close & overs running out, it was going to be a very tight finish🫣. Cassie had a wicket maiden in the 27th over, leaving Runcorn needing 1 wicket to finish the game, Nantwich requiring 15 runs. Fielding was great, limiting the scoring throughout the innings. Nicola took the final wicket in over 28, ending the game with Nantwich on 116 all out.

A very nervy finish but a great win!🎉

In the Rebels’ penultimate game of the season, we hosted Over Peover Cricket Club in sunny Runcorn, a week after our victory against them on their ground.

Runcorn once again lost the toss (as it seems to be a common occurrence this season) and batted first. Losing no wickets, the score was a solid 341. We put out a wonderful performance fielding with lots of communication going round and Over Peover’s ladies putting in a great performance too getting a solid 310/3, meaning Runcorn Rebels are three for three in their games over the last eight days! 💙

The whole team did amazingly; lots of communicating whilst batting and backing each other up in the field, so proud of you girlies 💙

✨ Ellie - a solid 23 runs and two wonderful catches!
✨ Sarah - a massive 20 runs!

It was a busy week for the Softball Runcorn Rebels with a solid two away games against and Warrington Cricket Club in the glorious English sunshine 😎

Tuesday’s game hosted by Over Peover was a good time all round, and the Rebels took another victory under their belt this year! 💙🎉
