GB open Karate Clubs We teach traditional Shukokai Karate and also sport karate. We also offer your first 4 weeks training FREE. We look forward to training with you.

We aim to help children and adults of all ages and abilities and from all backgrounds to enjoy all the benefits Martial Arts has to offer. A welcoming and friendly club for adults and children to learn traditional Shukokai Karate in the staffordshire and Walsall area. Why not try karate, give it ago and your first class is free!! Karate means “empty hand” and its origins can be traced back to China, though the island of Okinawa is often regarded as its birthplace. As a sport karate can help to develop strength, fitness , flexibility and spirit whilst at the same time increasing confidence and an awareness of self-defence. The style of karate practiced by our club is Shukokai, which means “the way for all”, and was introduced to England in 1968 by Japanese Senseis Tani and Kimura. Although both Senseis are now no longer with us, their legacy remains as strong as ever, with Shukokai continuing to be well recognised within the sport. As a new member, you become part of the Shukokai Karate family and as such will be supported by your Senseis and fellow students as you embark on your karate journey.

Fantastic nights training last night, a massive thanks to Steve O'Gara for putting the kids through their paces with the Bo staff, they loved it, and Niamh and Euan working on transitioning their Kata from Wado to Shukokai. Great night all round well done all 👏👏
