All the effort is always worthwhile when you see so many young men and women enjoying Hagley Field 🙌⚽️ and when messages like this come through, it makes it even more special 💪.

🌱⚽ Hagley Community Sports Field Rugeley – Season 3 ⚽🌱

We enter our third season at Hagley, and despite a tough summer with the elements, the pitches are looking ready 💪.

When I joined forces with Paul Sparkes just over two years ago, the remit was clear:

1️⃣ Provide a home for Chase Predators Football Club

2️⃣ Provide the best grassroots pitches in the area for as many teams / players as possible.

We’re well on our way, but still have a journey ahead. Drainage remains the big challenge – one final winter to get through before the works next summer on the drainage, which will allow us to sustain this level all year round.

In just two years we’ve invested in:
✅ Turf Tank
✅ Tractor / Mower
✅ Deep Slitter
✅ Quadraplay
✅ Storage Container
✅ Goals / Nets

None of this happens without the support of our coaches, parents, and volunteers – a real team effort 👏.

👉 Best of luck to all teams starting their season this weekend! Hagley will proudly provide a home to teams competing in:

⚽ Staffordshire Junior Football League
⚽ Junior Premier League
⚽ Mid Staffs Junior League

This Saturday we host the Brereton Social football event which will see hundreds of young boys and girls taking part.

There will be football from 9:30am and will go on most the day so please come on down and support, you may even find it more enjoyable than watching England!

We don’t just have football going on we have loads more aswell including some inflatable fun, The Midland Hog Roast Co doing Bacon and Sausage baps in the morning before there wonderful hog roast at lunchtime and Steve's Super Whip Midlands providing a cool treat in what looks to be a lovely warm day.

Do any of our wonderful followers have and can fly a drone.

We are looking for someone to attend Saturday AM (ideally around 8:30am) to do some short and footage of the sports field ahead of the Brereton Social tournament this weekend.

Any help of course will be great appreciated 🙏

GOOD NEWS……..

We have today received this:

“We are delighted to let you know that your application to Tesco Stronger Starts has been successful and your project will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores. Voting will commence in store from the first week in July 2024 until the end of September 2024”

We will remind all nearer the time but please, come July 1st look out for our project and support us by giving us your blue chip 🙏
