‼️ Important member communication ‼️
Dear Members,
It is with great regret and sadness that I have to write this letter to our members. Urban Boxing Studios will be closing its doors for the last time on the 15th August 2023.
The last nine months have proven to be an incredibly challenging time. We have battled through energy price rises, losses of staff, and faced challenges with the council pedestrianising Bore Street and losing parking, in turn losing members due to increased costs.
We managed to battle through covid, wounded but ready to fight on, however this latest onslaught has proved to be a battle, for which I must concede defeat.
I would like to thank all of our members for their loyalty over the last 4 and a half years, many of you have been with us from the beginning. We have made great friendships, we have laughed, cried, hugged and supported each other over the years and I will look on this period of my life with huge pride and positivity, regardless of this sad ending.
More than anyone I would like to thank Dani, she started and has ended the journey with us. She has been loyal to the end when others weren’t. She has supported me through every turn and always put the needs of the business before herself. Thanks for everything!
I would also like to thank my wife, she has supported me throughout every challenge, she has accepted my family coming second to the business so many times and gone above and beyond to help me in trying to keep the doors open.
I am currently in communication with another local gym who will offer our members a free two week period to compensate for the loss of membership during the last two weeks in August. I will also be offering classes from their site on a slightly reduced timetable. The gym will offer access to their other classes and fitness equipment throughout this period. The details will be shared with members during the next couple of days.
I know Urban Boxing Studios is more than a gym for so many of you, I am sorry to have to close, I feel I am letting those down that have supported me but the timing is now right to exit for me and my family. We look forward to the future with positivity!
Finally all of the equipment in the gym will be available for purchase, if you would like to purchase anything please get in touch.
