Rugby Archers Rugby Archers are a target archery club in Warwickshire, aiming to make archery a fun experience Our indoor season runs from October to April.

Rugby Archers (formerly Rugby Bowmen) aim to make archery a fun experience for everyone and cater for those who want a relaxing hobby as well as those who want to take it more seriously. During this season we shoot at Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club inside an 16.5-metre hall. Indoor sessions are one hour long, are currently as follows:

Thursday evenings
Sunday lunchtimes

During the summer, we shoot

at our outdoor range nr Napton at distances up to 70 metres. Our outdoor sessions are currently as follows:

Sunday afternoons
Wednesday evenings

We organise a series of fun and serious competitions throughout the year. We always love to welcome new members. For those completely new to the sport, we run a series of beginners courses throughout the year that give you an introduction to archery, explain the basics of shooting and the required safety elements. By the end of the course, you will be consistently hitting the target and be ready to join us as a regular member! Check out the latest course dates in our recent posts.

Beginners Course JULY 2026

Other than knowing your left from your right there is absolutely no experience required to take a beginner’s course. Unless you are an experienced archer, taking one of our courses is the only way to become a shooting member.

The course costs £60 per junior (under 21) and £70 per senior and is made up of three two-hour sessions held on Tuesday evenings. Details for each session are detailed below. Under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian to all sessions. There are no exceptions to this. If this is the case, you might want to consider taking the course yourself, rather than watching for the duration.

TASTER SESSION

A Taster Session is now available for booking.

Always wanted to try Archery for fun, before committing to a Beginners Course.

Paticipants must be aged 9 or over, sessions will last just over the hour at a cost of £10 per person.

8 people per session and places fill up fast, so do not delay in booking.

Congratulations to Claude who today completed her Class Classification on a Long Metric V (Barebow) (30m and 20m) and achieved an Archer Class 2.
Also Paul who completed his Class Classification on a Long Metric V (Recurve) (30m and 20m) and achieved an Archer Class 3.

David also completed his Class Classification on a Long Metric IV (Recurve) (40m and 30m) and achieved an Archery Class 1.
