When we saw the Sunday Riders Cult post about Tommy Walker finally starting his long-awaited cyclocross journey, we were VERY excited. 🍂🚲

Naturally we wanted to make sure he was suitably protected. Given his… historic MTB mishaps… we thought that was probably a wise decision. 😂

He’ll be lining up in the seriously tasty ABUS Cycling GameChanger 2.0 MIPS in Flip Flop Purple. 💜

Down at ground level, he’ll be rolling on Challenge Tyres Flandriens, set up tubeless and ready for whatever the CX course throws at him.

And, completely coincidentally, the new S/R/CULT Flandrien T-shirt may or may not have provided the subtle deciding factor when it came to choosing the tyres…

We call it brand alignment.
Tommy calls it having absolutely no choice. 😂

That’s another 60 bikes donated to the Re-Cycle charity that will soon make their way to new homes in Africa.

Thank you to all who have donated bikes, we already have 10 ready for the next collection so if you have some bikes you’re looking to get rid of please drop them down!

A huge thank you to David Watson Transport Ltd for transporting these bikes from Rugby to Colchester, it was a massive help. Thank you to Dean Sears for arranging it all and driver Andy Johnson for helping load them up and getting them there.

Together we will help many people get to work, school and other places easier across Africa.

I have been assured all will be sorted for business tomorrow as normal. I am in today doing repairs but can’t process anything.

I do apologise, the workshop is a little behind schedule at the moment. Please bear with me and I will endeavour to get jobs completed asap and back on track by the end of next week. I will also return calls, e-mails and messages asap too.

This is due to a family bereavement.

Next availability is 1st of September for workshop bookings so please do book ahead to avoid disappointment.

💜 PURPLE = FASTER… right?! 😏

This Canyon Grail CF SL has been through the Paddox Cycles workshop for a proper bit of TLC… and it certainly hasn’t left quietly! 😂

As well as a full service, we’ve given it a few tasty upgrades along the way:

🟣 New cassette
🟣 Purple chain – because boring chains are overrated
🟣 Purple aero chainring from Alugear_components
🔧 New bottom bracket
🧼 Headset bearings cleaned, inspected & freshly regreased
🛑 New brake discs & Sinter Green pads

And because fitting the parts is only half the job…

📐 The handlebars were precisely checked and aligned using our VeloTechnics stem alignment tool, before the new Sinter Brakes pads and discs were properly bedded-in on our Sinter Brakes brake bedding machine.

The result?

✨ Shiny
📏 Straight
🛑 Stops properly
🚀 Ready to get absolutely filthy again!

One of my favourite days at Paddox Cycles… New Tool Day! 😍🛠️

There’s something about adding another specialist tool to the workshop that never gets old… especially when it’s travelled all the way from the land down under 🇦🇺 and arrived in less than 4 days! 👏

This is the VeloTechnics Stem Alignment Tool, designed and manufactured by professional mechanic Chris Fry, who’s worked with some of the biggest teams in the world including Groupama-FDJ, Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe, and Garmin-Cervélo. When a tool has been developed by someone with that level of experience, you know it’s going to be something special.

As modern bikes become more advanced, the tolerances become tighter and the need for precision is greater than ever. This tool allows incredibly accurate checking and alignment of stems and handlebars, helping ensure every bike leaves the workshop set up exactly as it should be.

At Paddox Cycles, I’m always investing in new equipment, specialist tools and training so I can continue to offer the highest standard of service possible. It’s these small details that make a big difference.

A huge thank you to Chris for producing such a brilliant bit of kit and for the incredibly fast shipping.
