Life's all about balance...

As we age our balance starts to decline. This is due to multiple different aspects of the aging process, but we CAN do something about it.

Just as cardiovascular exercise is essential to strengthen your heart, the body needs exercise to improve balance, otherwise it will start to decline.

So let's work on balance as part of our general fitness regime and boost strength and confidence in our bodies.

I'm going to be running a series of "Live" classes over the coming weeks concentrating on specific exercises to strengthen the legs and core, to help improve balance. The first one will be on Monday 28th June at 10am.

Let's improve our balance.

But before we start practicing specific exercises I have a challenge for you!

There are 3 things I'd like you to do this week.

1. This one's easy!

2. Stand on one leg for as long as you can, aiming for 60 seconds. Make sure you do it on both legs.

3. Stand on one leg with your eyes closed! This is tricky! If you can balance for 15 seconds you are doing extremely well.

I would like you to do this every day this week...
Starting now!

Then post your results in the comments below. I'll put mine in too and we'll do it again at the end of the week and see if we've improved.

Life is all about balance and let's face it, over the last 18 months the whole World has been out of balance!

No wonder we are feeling out of sorts.

I feel as if I have taken a year off...from life itself!
It's not all been bad. In fact I've felt a bit guilty at times for enjoying all the extra free time and a slower pace of life, but even so, it has taken a toll on my body and mind.

🤞As we start to hope for "normal " life to return, it's time to take control and regain some balance

Do you feel the same?

This photo was taken last May. I don't think I have the confidence to try and do this now. Maintaining balance in our bodies is as important as having balance in every other area of our lives. Without it we are prone to injury, more likely to trip and fall and lose confidence in in our ability to do every day activities.

I'm going to share some tips and exercises to improve balance. Who's going to do them with me?
