Rugby Borough u13s v BAJFC Falcons U13s

Falcons were thrown a mid week fixture but luckily only had to travel down the road to Rugby Borough.

Falcons started pretty terribly going 3-0 down after ten minutes and then conceded another goal 3minutes later. The first two were poor, just watching the ball, the third was a cracker and the fourth a header from.one of our ex players. It took until the 18th minute before we had our first shot with Henry M doing well. Ash was making some great stops, his head didn't drop and kept us going. Falcons upped the tempo and competed for the last 10 minutes of the first half.
Second half and we changed shape, taking off a defender and adding an attackers to go for it. A very unlucky goal was conceded straight away when Henry Ms clearance hit Will abd went in. Falcons though kept their heads up and pushed for a consolation goal which duly came when Sam F picked out Kian who crossed in for Ed to score. Borough got another one a few minutes later as we pushed forwards to try and score another. We came close with Bailey hitting a good shot just over. Ash was kept busy and came up for the corners. Aryaan was PoTM he took responsibility for the team and was a steady presence at the back and in the middle. Sam F had another dynamic game with some great tackles and Ash was immense in goal again. A poor first 20minutes and then an even match but the damage had been done. We go again Sunday.

Today was the start of the season for Bilton Ajax U16 Whites in their new Division C, after gaining promotion at the end of last season.

An away fixture against Blisworth Greens, with some key players no longer with the team, was always going to be a tough start to the season.

The game kicked off and although Bilton were straight away up against it, were playing some not bad football, but the lack of strikers was always going to be an issue.
After 10 min we conceded with Blisworth’s forward splitting the defence to score first.
Bilton carried on and although starting to pass the ball around, didn’t really create many chances and inevitably in the 31st minute Blisworth scored a second.
Bilton managed to hold on until half time, keeping the score 2-0 to Blisworth.

The second half soon got under way and within 2 minutes Blisworth scored a third. We feared the worst but as usual there was plenty of grit and a long range shot from Kai hit one of Blisworth’s defenders and bounced into the top of the net for Bilton to claw a goal back. This definitely picked the lads up and Bilton created a few chances but weren’t clinical enough in front of goal to take advantage.

With Bilton receiving a yellow card for a late challenge, the final score ended 3-1 to Blisworth. Tough start to the season but with the team now back together, after what seemed a long summer break, with some hard work and listening the team should get back to some sort of form.

BAJFC U13 Falcons v Bugbrooke St Michael U13 Whites

The Falcons (proud to be sponsored by Momentous Solutions) were excited to get their league season underway facing Bugbrooke Whites. We had Sam F, Ash B and Henry M making their Falcons debuts.

The Falcons started well with plenty of pressure and playing the majority of the first 15 minutes in the opponents half. When Bugbrooke did break, they came up against a very determined Kian who carried on last season’s form with good interceptions and strong tackles.
Anything that managed to get through found an imposing Ash (stepping in to cover goal) gathering everything up and sending some good throws and long kicks out for the boys to chase. Will showed his speed down the right causing problems. Akaal came close latching onto one of Ash's long balls. Sam F was everywhere playing box to box and covering a lot of ground.

The Falcons were creating chances and making lots of pressure. Will scored on 15" after more pressure, with Akaal and then Henry H shooting and Will getting the rebound in. Henry M on the left showing lots of energy, beat his man and whipped in a cross that Akaal volleyed over. Henry, a few minutes later got into a shooting position but placed his shot wide. Ash thumped a massive kick forward and Ed got onto the end of it but hit his shot over.
Henry again down the left, hit a shot that came out to Akaal who’s follow up shot hit both posts, so very very close.
A great dominant first half from the boys with everyone playing their part.

Second half and Bugbrooke put us under some pressure with Ash having to dive at the striker’s feet to gather the ball and then made another good save. Aryaan was organising the defense and working well with Xavi and Kian.
Xavi was having to work hard but was making some good tackles and covering well.

With 15 minutes to go, Ash came out into midfield and Henry M was persuaded to cover goal (thank you Henry!). Ash exploded into the game surging past the oppostion and whipping in a cross as well as putting in some strong tackles.

The Falcons switched off and Bugbrooke got two quick goals, the boys heads didn't drop and kept pushing to get something out of the game.
A change to the team to give Sam F a rest and bring Sam Y on. Sam Y showed some good energy down the right wing but it didnt quite land for us. Akaal (I think) had a shot that went just wide.

The boys played so well for so much of today's game and felt like the stronger team. A draw would have been a fair result but some very promising signs that once they start to play together the results will follow the performance. Some great efforts today, most notably from the three debutants as well as a Captain’s peformance from Aryaan and a great showing from Kian. Sam F was POTM, for his tireless running, always wanting the ball and kept the team ticking over.

Great to be back and we go again on Wednesday and then Sunday!! Thanks to the parents for helping clear away and for Michael for running the line.

Great to see the U9 Spartans back together for the training this week and their first away game.

Lots of happy faces at training and lots of great team work and trying out some new positions this week.

The boys worked really hard and showed real determination in the game which was great to see.

🔥🐲 Dragons Make a Fantastic Start to U10! 🔴⚪️

The Dragons got their U10 campaign underway with a fantastic morning of football against a spirited Welford Victoria side. An entertaining game with plenty of attacking football, great passing and movement, and some excellent defensive work from both teams.

🐲 Q1

The opening quarter was closely contested, with both sides working hard to find a way through. Oscar and Theo were excellent defensively, while Jack, Freddie, Elliot and Josh helped create some promising attacking moves. Welford looked dangerous too, making for an exciting opening.

🔥 Q2

The game really began to open up. The Dragons’ passing and movement created a succession of chances, with Henry particularly influential in linking play and creating opportunities for his teammates.

Welford responded with some pressure of their own, winning a number of corners and forcing George into some excellent saves. Oscar was also outstanding in helping to protect the goal.

The Dragons eventually found their attacking rhythm and began to create real problems for the Welford defence.

💪 Q3

The Dragons continued to build on their momentum, with some fantastic team football. Freddie, Elliot and Josh were a constant threat going forward, while Henry continued to create chances.

At the other end, Max, Theo and Oscar worked hard to keep Welford at bay. There were chances for both sides, but the Dragons’ movement and passing were really starting to make the difference.

🚀 Q4

The final quarter was played at a fantastic tempo. Josh, Jack, Theo and Max continued to contribute at both ends, while Elliot and Freddie remained dangerous in attack.

George produced another important save when Welford threatened, before the Dragons finished strongly with more good attacking play right through to the final whistle.

🏆 Managers’ Player – Theo
A fantastic all-round performance, with Theo showing real commitment both defensively and in his passing and movement.

🏆 Parents’ Player – Henry
A hugely influential performance, with Henry creating chances and linking the Dragons’ attack beautifully.

A huge thank you to Welford Victoria for a great game. They played with real spirit and helped make it such an entertaining match. We wish them all the very best for the season. 🤝⚽️
