We’re recruiting for the 2026/27 season across Open‑Age (16+) team and U17 / U18 teams.

Competing in Step 6 – West Midlands Regional Women’s Division One North, with home games at Rugby Town Stadium and training on our excellent 4G facility.

Quarter-final action in the League Cup saw Rugby Town fall to a 2–0 defeat away from home against Hednesford Town, who currently sit 4th in the league above.

Despite the difference in divisions, this was arguably Rugby’s strongest team performance of the season. Every player on the pitch gave 110%, matching the hosts across the field and creating several promising chances throughout the first half.

Hednesford broke the deadlock just 30 seconds before half-time following a brief lapse in concentration, but Rugby continued to battle and showed great determination after the break. The visitors enjoyed spells of possession and were unfortunate not to find an equaliser during a strong second-half push.

Still trailing 1–0 with 10 minutes remaining, Rugby committed bodies forward in search of a goal. Unfortunately, this left space at the back and Hednesford capitalised late on to make it 2–0.

While the result didn’t go our way, the effort, grit and determination shown across the full 90 minutes was something the whole squad can be proud of. A performance full of positives.

Thank you to Hednesford Town for the warm welcome, and best of luck for the rest of the cup run.

Rugby Town Women 3–2 AFC Telford United Women

A huge three points on the road for Rugby Town today.

Rugby started the game strongly, taking control early and going 2–0 up within 35 minutes. Just before the break, Telford were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time, reducing the deficit and making it 2–1 going into the interval.

The second half was a real battle between the two sides. Rugby created the better chances but were unable to convert, and Telford capitalised to bring the score back to 2–2.

But Rugby weren’t done. The team dug deep, battling hard across the pitch in both defence and midfield in search of a winner. After winning the ball in midfield, Rugby found the decisive moment, Millie calmly slotting home the winner with virtually the last kick of the game.

Nothing beats a last-minute winner.
A proud performance from the team today and a well-earned victory on the road. 🩵

FT: Rugby Town Women 2–2 Telford Town Women

A challenging afternoon away for Rugby in torrential rain, with the conditions making the pitch extremely difficult to play on.

Rugby started the stronger side and went into half-time 2–0 up thanks to goals from Molly and Millie.

With Rugby playing uphill in the second half and both teams battling the conditions, the hosts managed to pull two goals back to level the game.

A hard-fought point for Rugby in very tough conditions who were unfortunate not to get the win

Rugby Town Women 2–1 Newcastle Town Women

Three wins from three against Newcastle this season. A hard-fought battle away from home, but we came out on top once again. Their goalkeeper kept them in the game, making a number of big saves. Rugby created plenty of chances in the first half and could’ve put the game to bed early, but Newcastle looked to keep it scrappy. Credit to the girls for grinding it out and getting the win. 🩵
