To all members regarding the Covid-19 Virus:
The committee feel it important to highlight a few points as a responsible club to help with your safety and consequently that of others. As the weather warms we expect to see more and more people at the club, and why not?, our hobby lends itself to fresh air and space which is what we all need right now - if you are not self isolating.
When visiting the club, please follow these new measures for maximum safety. We can continue to enjoy our hobby with relative ease:
The entrance gate metal combination keypad is used frequently by farm workers and businesses on the farm. Be mindful of this and use sanitiser after tapping in the code and before if you so wish.
Refrain from using the club hut as an area of congregation, better stand under one of the giant parasols which we will soon be putting back out.
Do help out and give the general surface areas a wipe down if you have used the club hut. If possible we will supply some disinfectant, but it would be appreciated if any member can bring their own as it seems hard to come by at the moment.
Take your own flasks and drinks instead of using the clubs stock to limit possible contamination of surfaces in the drinks preparation area. Dispose of empty bottles and cups promptly.
Take hand sanitiser to the club and use it frequently. Try to avoid passing batteries, transmitters and other tools to each other without clean hands.
Take tissues and follow the governments guidelines to catch it and bin it.
Be mindful of the wind direction when coughing or sneezing; droplets will carry further and club members will be extremely unappreciative. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue where possible and be mindful of those around you.
If you are showing symptoms of the virus, please remain home, follow the governments advice and do not attend the club.
Space is ample and there is no need to stand in close proximity to other members so make use of it and enjoy.
For those in the higher risks groups, please take extra precautions and do everything possible to remain at a distance and away from others. Remember, this virus incubates for a number of days where you may remain contagious, so treat everyone as a possible carrier.
If you bring a visitor to the club, ensure they follow the same protocols.
Perhaps a salute instead of a handshake from this point forward!? 😊
Stay safe
