3 Myths About Exercise After 40 – Busted 💥

There’s so much misinformation out there — especially when it comes to fitness after 40.
And if you’ve ever said to yourself:

“I’m too old.”
“It’s too late.”
“I’ll just end up hurting myself.”

You are 100% not alone.
But the truth might surprise you 👇



✅ Myth 1: “I’m too old to get strong or fit”
🔍 Truth: Your body can get stronger, more mobile, and more energetic at any age — it just needs a smart, tailored approach. I’ve seen clients in their 50s and 60s lift weights for the first time and feel amazing doing it.

✅ Myth 2: “Exercise will make my joints worse”
🔍 Truth: Done right, movement helps relieve stiffness, build support around joints, and even reduce pain. We avoid high-impact stuff and focus on making your body feel better, not worse.

✅ Myth 3: “I need to get fit before I work with a trainer”
🔍 Truth: This one breaks my heart. That’s like saying you need to get healthy before you see a doctor. You don’t need to be fit to start — starting is what gets you fit, safely.

Join us to celebrate the first Bank Holiday week in May with some on-trend Line Dancing! 🤠

Being run by our very own Andrea Clarke, these sessions are aimed at beginners and are a great low impact workout for those that want to try something different and learn a few dances. A fun session and filled with positive vibes - get your cowboy hat on and join us!! 🙌🏻🙂

Monday 5th - 10-11am
Wednesday 7th - 7-8pm
Friday 9th -10.15-11.15am

Sessions are open to both members and non-members but are only bookable through the BookFit app alongside our other weekly fitness classes.
