Ricky Hill played a total of 506 games for Luton Town between 1976-1989. Born in Hammersmith, London, he made his professional debut for Luton in 1976 against Bristol Rovers.

Hill spent 14 years at Luton and played a pivotal role in the club's promotion to the First Division in 1981–82 as Second Division champions, where he won back-to-back 'Player of the Year' awards (1980–1982).

Hill was a part of the 1988 League Cup final
-winning team that won their first – and only to date – major trophy as they beat Arsenal 3–2 at Wembley Stadium. Hill is currently third on the all-time appearances list at Luton.

Hill earned three England caps during his playing career. After retirement he managed several teams with his most recent appointment being in charge of the Turks and Caicos Islands national team.

David Armstrong (1954-2022) played 590 league games between 1971-1988 for Middlesbrough, Southampton and Bournemouth. Born in Durham, he started his career with Middlesbrough in 1971. He holds the Boro' record for most consecutive appearances with 305 consecutive league games and 358 consecutive games in all competitions between March 1972 and August 1980. He won the second division and Anglo-Scottish Cup with the club.
He joined Southampton in 1981 for £600,000, then a club record. Armstrong played 222 games for Southampton in total. He came close to winning the league with Southampton when they finished second to Liverpool in the 1983/84 season. Armstrong finished his career with Bournemouth. He earned three caps for England between 1980-1984.

The Wednesday 1896 FA Cup Winners. The club defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 in the final which was played at the Crystal Palace ground. Fred Spiksleybecame the star of the show in this Cup Final, scoring the two goals that gave the Wednesday a 2–1 win.

Aston Villa 1895 FA Cup final winners. They defeated West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at the Crystal Palace ground in front of 42,000 spectators. Aston Villa player Bob Chatt was credited with scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup Final history, scored after just 30 seconds. This record would stand for 114 years before being broken by Louis Saha of Everton
in the 2009 FA Cup Final with a goal after 25 seconds.
