Thanks to the British weather it brings a close to the 2026 Cotswold Hills Cricket League!

The 1’s skippered by Matt Page ensured they fought hard all season to cement their place in the Cotswold Premier Division next season which is a fantastic achievement despite the amount of weddings & stag do’s to deal with this season!

The 2’s skippered by Adam Covell are staying in Division 4, with plenty of challenges to deal with in the season they’ve escaped the drop!

A brilliant season on and off the pitch, the junior section is thriving with them preparing to take the step up into adult cricket soon & a massive thank you to all the players, parents & coaches for making this happen!

For those who are already counting down the days to next season, winter nets have been booked! Only 199 days to go! We will see you next season!

Weekend Results 🏏

Tough weekend of results for both sides, 1’s narrowly miss out on a win on the road but the good news is that secures Cotswold Premier Division status for next season which is fantastic for the club! After about 10 weddings and stag do’s to navigate this season it really has been a very good effort from everyone!

The 2’s lose by 1 run which went down to the last ball, unfortunately they just couldn’t get over the line. The bowling was brilliant but just couldn’t be backed up by the batting, all to play for next weekend to ensure they avoid the drop!

Penultimate weekend of fixtures for the 2026 season! 🏏

Weekend Results 🏏

The 1’s carry on their form from last weekend with another huge win against Alcester & Ragley! Joe Turrell carrying on his form too with 71, Jack Beever is off daddy duties this week with an excellent 64! Sam Turrell also with 31 set a nice platform for the tail end partnership of all rounder Henry Bird with 30 & Nathan Button 21 not out. The total on the board was 284 which gave the opposition a big chase, great effort from everyone contributing & out to field we went!

Excellent opening spells from Jamie Plant & Henry Bird kept Alcester & Ragley from scoring early doors. Jamie was unlucky not to get a wicket but Henry took one in his opening spell. Up stepped Nathan Button & Andy Shaw which saw them dominate with the ball, Nathan taking 4 wickets & Andy taking 3, both bowling brilliantly to keep the runs down. The skipper ensured fielding placements meant the boundary’s were few and far between, Sam Turrell also taking a wicket & Henry getting the last meant the visitors were all out for 117! Awesome from everyone on Saturday, we look towards next weekend!

The 2’s were on the road against Alvechurch, fielding first with wickets from Vikky with 2, Jack Powell with 2 & Adrian Bird with 1. Steve Turrell & John Bates also getting 1 each meant the visitors scored 243/7.

A big chase but unfortunately wasn’t the 2’s day, Vikky Rudramurthy with 34, Adrian Bird with 28 & John Bates with 15, all together we got 150 after being bowled out. We go again next weekend!
