FC Aztec is proud to announce an exciting new development in its player pathway with the creation of an Under-18s midweek league team, designed to strengthen the connection between the club’s youth section and local senior side Rothwell Corinthians.
The new U18 squad will compete in the Northants Senior Youth Midweek League, providing talented young players with a higher level of competitive football while preparing them for the transition into senior football. This initiative marks a significant step in the club’s long-term commitment to developing homegrown talent and creating clear progression opportunities.
By aligning the U18 team more closely with Rothwell Corinthians, players will benefit from shared coaching philosophies, increased exposure to senior training environments, access to Step 6 facilities and a clearer understanding of the standards required at the next level.
Football Development Officer, Chris Terry said:
“We are delighted to introduce this U18 midweek team as part of our ongoing player development pathway. It provides a vital bridge between youth and senior football, helping our young players prepare both technically and mentally for the next step in their football journey. It’s an exciting time for the club.
The strength and depth of quality throughout our U16s section — a real credit to our coaching teams — encouraged us to revisit this opportunity. We are proud to continue offering football at the right level for our players, while strengthening the connection to senior football.”
The move also reinforces the club’s commitment to sustainable growth, giving local players the opportunity to represent their community at every stage of their football journey.
Trials and further details about the new U18 team will be announced in due course.
