Feeling glute bridges more in your lower back than your glutes? This might be why.

Emma demonstrates how a small setup change can completely change the exercise.

In the first clip, her feet are too far away and her head is lifted, which shifts the load into the lower back.
In the second clip, Emma brings her heels closer to her body and tucks her chin slightly. Now when she pushes through her heels, the glutes and hamstrings do the work instead of the back.

If your glute bridges don’t feel right, check your setup first. Small adjustments can make a big difference.
