One of our busiest weekends of the year just there, with another just around the corner.
The seniors draw will be out tonight and the Mclean cup tomorrow.
On Saturday we held our premier open scratch competition, the 36 hole Bennie Trophy, once again kindly sponsored by the Martin family from Bute Blacksmiths and Gilchrist Steels.
Once again it was a familiar winner with Graham Bolton once again taking home the coveted trophy, stamping his authority as the most successful player in the trophy’s illustrious history, with a first round of 70 followed by a 1 under 68 in the second round, giving him a total of 138 to win by 2 clear shots.
Well done Graham 👍🏻
Second place went to Rothesay’s poster boy and newest member of the Mountpleasant Mighty Ducks, demoting Stuart Brady from Butler to jester…… Jack Reynolds. After a steady 73 in the morning Jack found his true form in the afternoon with a 1 under 68 which included an eagle 2 @7. Third equal were the on form John Shaw and Stephen Reynolds both 1 shot further back on 142.
The handicap 1st place was won by Port Bannantynes Graham Dunn (who btw beat Matthew in the scratch) with second place going to the latest shinty come golfer superstar Davie “dumbo” Macdonald, who thankfully doesn’t have his uncle Roberts temper!!!
Well done Graham 👍🏻

Well done lads 👍🏻
Second place went to previous winners Dane Williamson and Iain McDonald who ham & egged it very well between them to fall a tad short with bogeys on the last 3 holes to give them a nett 60 and lose out by 1 shot.
