Wickersley dominated the game today, two goals in the first half settled them in nicely for a comfortable win, with four more in the second half. The last goal was a penalty taken by Henry, making it that every player has scored during the course of this season!

Special thanks to Will and Alex for covering in net today. That means that Alex has played in every position this season!

Today’s win leaves the boys finishing a solid 4th place in the league, well done!

And a birthday win for one of our coaches, Kieran!

….. and that’s a wrap on the 25/26 season, the boys would like to thank everyone who supports them week in, week out, whether it’s on the sidelines or having a go on our LMS or sweepstakes, they appreciate you all.
Most importantly they want to thank Liam, Kieran and Paul for all they do. Each player has grown as an individual this season, but most importantly they have developed as a team!

The first half was pretty even, one goal early on from Wickersley was the only thing separating the teams.
Wickersley came out in the second half, and made the game theirs. A second goal from a corner gave the boys confidence, they held their shape well, and Thorncliffe buckled under the pressure. Three more goals followed and a clean sheet.

Wickersley’s third game in five days, and it did not disappoint!
The first half was pretty even, Wickersley had chances, but it ended 0-0.
Wickersley came out in the second half, and three goals in five minutes, turned the game around. Wickersley had fire in their bellies, and two more goals followed. Just before the final whistle Middlewood scored a consolation, but it was Wickersley’s night!

The boys continued as they left off on Thursday night, and got straight to work, with a goal in the open minutes. Treeton replied and equalised, but Wickersley stepped up and scored two more goals before half time.
In the second half Wickersley continued with the relentless pressure and chased every ball, adding four more goals to the tally.

Last night the boys played a rearranged league fixture against Sheffield FC.
One key phrase for this game was work rate! The lads were asked to chase the ball and close down their opponents and they definitely stuck to the plan. Sheffield FC played the ball around the field really well but Wickersley just wouldn’t give up and kept them out of the game.

With a depleted squad due to illness and injury, Wickersley had to play a few players out of position. In the first half they found it difficult to find their stride, but did much better in the second half.
Thanks to Oliver and Harry, for stepping up and playing in net.
