!!AUDITION NOTICE - PLEASE SHARE!!

URBAN conceptz Theatre and Big Imaginations are excited to announce that we are auditioning for 3 professional
performers to take part in our R&D period for a brand new and exciting UK physical theatre commission.

We are currently on the look out for male and female performers to take part in a two week research and
development period for our brand new production “You, Me & i” which will tour nationally in 2018. UCTheatre is an
award-winning theatre company, specialising in physical and visual theatre with dramatic narrative.

Our performance style requires committed, versatile performers with very strong physical ability, improvisational
/ devising skills and commitment. We are looking for dynamic and charismatic performers with very adept physical
presence with an interest and understanding in movement, acting and narrative.

Performers should have excellent dance, circus or movement technique, with an understanding of physical theatre,
object manipulation and acting.

A minimum of 3 years professional experience is desirable.

Full availability for both R&D period(s) is essential:

1. Week Commencing 25th September 2017 (Full Week)
2. Week Commencing 23rd October 2017 (Full Week)

*FREE MOVEMENT SESSIONS*

So for the last few years URBAN conceptz Theatre's Artistic Director has been relearning how to move, through a variety of different mediums and methods. Come and join him for FREE movement and conditioning classes at Cast in Doncaster as he'd love to share this experience with as many people as possible.

Be prepared to work hard, to be pushed out of your comfort zone and to wake different parts of your body up. This NOT a dance class, this is NOT a fitness class... It's a MOVEMENT class! Focusing on Active Strength, Body Conditioning, Range Of Movement, Joint Manipulation, Relaxation, Balance, Contact Work, Kinetic Chains and Much More!

Today we rehearsed for 'CORE Part One' getting things ready for Lancaster Encounter's Festival. A couple more rehearsals with the Young people to follow and I think we'll be good to go! Looking forward to showcasing this piece at the end of September. But lot's to do in the meantime! Peace - URBAN conceptz Theatre.

"Core - Part I" is a coming together of two generations, a blend of raw movement, spoken word and electronic music. The performers dance, swing and defy gravity as they clamber their way through a bespoke scaffolding structure representative of a world of choice and limitation. Visually stimulating and full of abstract moments, movement and content, Artistic Director Ryan Harston creates a highly energetic performance that investigates the universal relationship between dreams and reality.

We live in a world of challenges, a world of conflict, do we stay enclose in our box or do we break out?

Urban Conceptz will be working with young people from 5 schools in Blackburn to explore their dreams and expectations. Through movement, spoken word and choreography to ask the questions, What should you be doing in the eyes of society? What is your expectation of your 'reality' and what do you think is really possible?

"Core - Part I" is supported by Lancaster Arts, Blackburn Children's University and is commissioned by Big Imaginations and Lancashire Encounters.
