🏆 What an achievement for Jack Whaley ⛳️

The Yorkshire Post caught up with GM Ashley Lerigo following Jack’s incredible US Amateur Championship victory, becoming just the third Englishman ever to win the title.

Jack has been part of Rotherham Golf Club since his junior days, coming through the ranks here before going on to achieve on the biggest stage. It’s a fantastic achievement for Jack, and something everyone at the club can be incredibly proud of.

From having Masters champion Danny Willett as a member, who honed his skills here at the club, to now celebrating Jack Whaley’s incredible US Amateur victory, we’re incredibly proud to see another one of our members making their mark on the world stage.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our very own Jack Whaley has been selected to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup at Lahinch.

Fresh from his outstanding US Amateur Championship victory, Jack continues to go from strength to strength. His selection for one of amateur golf’s most prestigious events is a testament to his talent, dedication, and hard work.

Congratulations, Jack, on this well-deserved achievement. We’ll all be cheering you on as you represent GB&I at Lahinch. 🇬🇧🇮🇪⛳

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the Lol Morgan Junior Open at Rotherham Golf Club. We hope all of our competitors had a fantastic day and enjoyed the challenge of the course.

A fantastic end to the season as we successfully defended our SUGC title in style, beating Hallamshire 7–1 at home. 💪

That rounds off an incredible season, finishing undefeated in all matches. A brilliant achievement from the whole team 👏👏👏
