Great effort from these two tonight. πŸ‘πŸ₯Š

They've only been with us just over a month and have settled into the club brilliantly.

Both are working hard, listening, improving every session and becoming part of the team.

Well done to you both tonight, and well done to everyone who trained. Another solid session with plenty of effort and a great attitude throughout.

Keep turning up, keep learning and keep improving. πŸ‘Š

Well done to the younger ones tonight πŸ₯Š

They finished the session with some body conditioning and showed brilliant courage all the way through.

No fear, no quitting, just effort and determination.

This is what boxing teaches at a young age β€” confidence, discipline, resilience and learning to keep going when it gets tough.

Great work lads πŸ‘

Here’s the squad this morning using the sticks for a fun warm-up, working on reactions, footwork and movement.

Great turnout for 8am.

Saturday mornings show who really wants it.

Everyone can talk a good game, but getting yourself to the gym early on a Saturday shows commitment.

If you want to box, get yourself in the gym. Show the coaches you want it through your actions, not just your words.

Well done to Nevaeh and Tia in sparring as well. Some good rounds, using their footwork to change angles, create space and adjust their strategy.

Good work everyone.

Team Wath Warriors have smashed it again πŸ‘πŸ₯Š

This year they have beaten last year’s total and raised a massive Β£1,493.75 including Gift Aid for Cancer Research UK.

Absolutely brilliant effort from the team.

Great cause. Great people. Great mindset.

Teaching kids to think about others, support good causes and put effort into something bigger than themselves is such a positive lesson for later life.

Massive well done to everyone who ran, supported, donated or shared the fundraiser.

Proud of you all πŸ‘πŸ₯Š

Just a quick update for everyone attending boxing tonight.

Due to electrical work being carried out in the building, we currently have no power until tomorrow evening.

The good news is that the boxing room should be absolutely fine. We have plenty of windows, so there is still plenty of natural light coming into the gym.

Training will go ahead as normal tonight, but we wanted to make everyone aware before arriving.

Thanks for your patience while the work is completed. Although the boxing room has already been fully rewired, safely removing the remaining old electrical systems in a building of this age takes time and plenty of checks.

See you all tonight.

This weekend sums up what we try to teach our kids.

Dylan completed a 5km Tough Mudder, played in a football tournament in Sheffield yesterday against academy teams and got a few hard lessons along the way.

Today he's back at it again in Doncaster. Four games played, three wins, and waiting to see who they get in the semi-final.

His coach often calls him the workhorse of the team. Not because he's the most talented, but because he'll sprint back, sprint forward and keep going when others are tired.

This isn't a post about football.

It's about attitude.

As a family we talk about having a "can do" attitude all the time. The same message we used at Bishop Burton back in my teaching days.

You don't get to choose your talent, your height, or who you're competing against.

You do get to choose whether you train. You do get to choose whether you go for that run. You do get to choose whether you practise at home. You do get to choose whether you make excuses or make progress.

Most people don't fail because they can't do something.

They fail because they never give themselves the chance to find out what they're capable of.

Make good choices. Work hard. Give yourself a chance to be great.

The worst regret isn't failure.

It's looking back and wondering...

"What if I'd actually given it everything?"

Three years in a row. These young warriors. One fantastic cause.

Some of the lads from Wath Boxing Club are once again taking on their annual challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Last year they raised just over Β£1,000 between them, and this year they're back at it again, giving up their time and putting in the effort to support a cause that affects so many families.

We couldn't be prouder of them. In a world where it's easy to spend time on phones and games, these young men are choosing to make a difference and help others.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps support life-saving research and brings us one step closer to beating cancer.

If you can spare a few pounds, please show them your support:

Well done lads. You're a credit to yourselves, your families and Wath Boxing Club. πŸ‘πŸ₯Š

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
