I must admit that I am one of those people who has never had anything offered to me on a plate.

I have had to work hard and with that have encountered obstacles, curve balls and complete blocks in the road. But, I keep on down that path with the determination of a top class athlete.

Sometimes, it comes to nothing, sometimes I have to change path but sometimes every now and again, I get the breakthrough I deserve.

You always find the path you were meant to go on, even when you have tried every other one.

Leave that path with grace and don't give up!

The right path is waiting!

I am off on my holidays in September. It will be challenging this year as my little dog is 15 years old and starting to struggle with her walks. I am still recovering from surgery in March, so we have to change our usual path of hiking all day long to something more sedate. I will let you know how I get on.

One of the principles of coaching is that we all sometimes need to reflect on life and reassess what is most important at that time.

Priorities change and mine have too, so from September, Monday’s Motivation will become Monthly Motivation and will be posted at the beginning of each month.

I am not a morning person. I am much better in the afternoon.
But, I do know that if you wake up miserable and complaining, you will sq**rt toothpaste onto your pyjamas, you will stub your toe on the door, you will drop the toast butter side down.

If you wake up with a smile and see every day as a new beginning, the universe will smile back at you so, sing in the shower, praise your kids, fuss your pets, smile at strangers and suddenly your toothpaste lands on your brush, you door opens wide enough to get through and your butter stays on your toast.

Enjoy your day!

ANNOUNCEMENT - AS OF SEPTEMBER 2026

Monday Motivation will become Monthly Motivation and will be published at the beginning of each month.

I have made a decision to concentrate on building my business in other ways and have returned to Human Resources Consultancy work.

I am also studying to obtain a Menopause Coaching Qualification to enhance my "Making Friends with your Hormones programme and already have a booking with the NHS for delivery of a session.

Engagement is low on this page and a lot of work goes into finding the quotations, making comment and designing the post. Time which I feel could be used for a better good and which, of course, I will share with you in future.

If you would like to see different content which you can engage with better, please share your suggestions for the Winter months and beyond.

I must admit one of the most difficult things in times of hardship, is to imagine that the "thing" you want is what you already have. To be honest it is quite irresponsible to spend all your money and get into debt because you believed you already had £1million.

The principle here is that if you believe that you will have this celebration in February next year, the universe will work it's magic to give you something to celebrate. Similar to always believing that you will celebrate Christmas, your birthday, your next holiday etc.

So mark up those calendars, get clear on your dreams and let's get back together in February to see if your Celebration Dinner was to be thankful that your dream came true. Good luck!

In these times when all around us is rush, rush, rush, task lists and deadlines, it is good to take some time out. Maybe that is on your lunch break, in the long summer evenings or at the weekend.

I am looking forward to a weekend in the Peak District next weekend, when I can go out with my dog, walk, sit by the river and just be peaceful in the countryside. What do you like to do to unwind? Have you any plans you would like to share?

Now, this is not as easy as it may sound.
If your mind is racing.
Your to do list is getting longer
Your brain flipping from one thing to an other
You are replaying conversations, sometimes from years ago
When all you want to do is go to sleep.
Welcome to the club!

Try not to take all this crap to bed with you.
Find a bedtime routine.
Find a strategy.
Change it if you have to.
Try everything.
Whatever works for you to clear your mind and get a good nights sleep is very important for good mental health.

Once you are clear on what is most important to you, you can start to make it happen.

Over time our priorities might change and we should adapt to those changes.

Do you know what you really want?
Do you know what your true values and beliefs are?
Have you set healthy boundaries in your life?
Do you stick to them or let people move them for you?

I start each day asking for happiness, health and security. I end each night being grateful for the day I have just experienced.

I might not have everything I want in life but I do have what is important to me.

As the Lads are doing so well, I am reposting this again.

How much can change in a few days? Not only have they beaten Mexico in once of the best matches I have seen, they also sent Norway home too.

Argentina on Wednesday - Keep the positive energy going!

One game at a time, one step at a time.

I have to admit that I cheated a little bit this week. It is now Sunday night as I am prepping this post. I am hoping to keep awake to see the England vs Mexico match and if I do, there may be some sleeping to be done tomorrow.

This week's Monday motivation is a little different with quotes from some of the current England Team Mates.

Whatever happens in the small hours of the morning, these quotes remain true. Not just in football but in live as a whole.

Hard work and lots and lots of self belief.

Everyone who was ever successful in life had to firstly believe in themselves.
