⚽🔥 WHAT. A. GAME! 🔥⚽
What an absolute thriller of a game for the Sunnyside girls! A match packed with goals, action, tackles, great football and, most importantly, an unbelievable amount of hard work from every single girl on that pitch. 💙
The girls had a slightly slow start and took a little while to find their rhythm, but once they got going, they really grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and never looked back!
From that point onwards, the energy levels went through the roof. The girls battled for every ball, chased everything down, made some fantastic runs and showed some brilliant determination from the first whistle right through to the last.
There was some fantastic passing and movement, with the girls beginning to find each other brilliantly and work as a team. Some of the runs off the ball were superb, creating space and opportunities, while the work rate to get back and help each other out was just as impressive.
And the goals? What a game for the spectators! ⚽⚽⚽
There was action at both ends, plenty of attacking football and never a dull moment. The girls kept pushing, kept battling and kept looking for the next opportunity. Every time they were challenged, they responded with even more determination.
What really stood out today, though, was the effort.
Every single girl contributed.
Every single girl worked.
Every single girl battled.
And every single girl left absolutely everything out on that pitch. 💙
By the final whistle, the evidence was written all over their faces — red cheeks, tired legs and some very sweaty football shirts! 😂🥵
But those red faces told the story of a team who had given it absolutely everything.
There were moments of brilliant football, moments of pure determination and plenty of those grassroots football moments that make us all smile. The girls supported each other, encouraged each other and continued to work right until the very end.
A huge well done to every one of them. 👏👏👏
They should be incredibly proud of themselves today. Not just because of the goals or the result, but because of the attitude, effort, teamwork and determination they showed throughout the game.
Every run. Every tackle. Every pass. Every sprint. Every battle.
They left it all out there.
