You probably don’t eat like an adult, as derogatory as it may sound it’s likely true

Likewise you probably come out with “yeah but I’m all or nothing”

You’ve said that all your life, how’s that going?

Just a few recent results 🤝🏻

Different ages, different starting points, different lives.

Jobs, kids, stress, busy lives and a body they’d stopped feeling good in.

No extreme diets.
No giving up everything they enjoyed.
Just a structure that fitted around real life.

That’s what changed things.

And whatever excuse you’ve been holding onto... someone in these photos had it too.

Too busy.
Too old.
Too many failed attempts.

Didn’t stop them.
Won’t stop you either.

Most people think there are two options when a diet gets hard.
Push through or quit.

Ste was neither.
He’d done the work, lost the weight, and wanted more.

So instead of flogging a tired body on the same plan, I pulled the plug on the diet completely.
Calories went up.
Food noise went down.
Gym performance came back.

Then a deload week to get him physically fresh and mentally ready.

That’s not quitting.
That’s coaching.

Reading where someone actually is and adjusting accordingly.
Not every client needs more pressure.

Sometimes the smartest move is to back off so they can come back harder.

Ste’s standards of himself went up during this process.
So mine for him went up with them.
The next phase is going to be something else.

Everyone’s going hybrid these days.

I’ll be honest, I’m not sure what to call what I’m doing.

I’m still bodybuilding. That’s not changing.
But I’ve always been amazed at athleticism / explosive work.

So I’m giving it a go.

Box jumps. Farmers walks. Tyre flips. Sled work.
Getting the numbers back up on safety bar squats and deadlifts.

This isn’t a rebrand.
Not a new era.

Just having fun.
Expanding my knowledge and capabilities.

You show up for work.
You show up for the kids.
You show up for everyone who needs something from you.
And somewhere between the early starts and the 9pm couch collapse, you stopped showing up for yourself.

Not because you’re lazy.
Not because you don’t care.

Because nobody has ever built a plan around the life you actually live.

4am starts. Hotel food. Different time zones every week.
And he’s building muscle whilst staying lean.

Most people would use that as an excuse.
He used it as a reason to get the structure right.

No crash diets.
No skipping the social life.
No obsessing over perfect food choices.

Just a plan that actually works around a mental schedule.

If John can do it flying all over the world on buffet food and four hours sleep...

You can do it too.
You just need the right structure.

Luke runs a business, does BJJ, and just boxed off a holiday diet.

Most people can’t manage one of those.
He did all three.

And the leaner he got, the more we took AWAY.

Less cardio. More feeds. Better result.

That’s not a mistake.
That’s the point.

Your body isn’t a machine you can just keep loading work into.
It pushes back.
And when it does, the answer is rarely more.

One week out from the Wedding Classic.
Judge for yourself.

Could he be leaner?
Yes, but he’s going on holiday, not stage… and this is a wicked look for a holiday.

Week 23/52. A snippet of life RN.

- Weekly educational video added to the Team Shep members lab
- Went to see Dermot Kennedy in Leeds
- Got more practice in with my bigger camera / edits
- Still having a life and staying in decent nick
- Unsure if I’m hybrid (lol) as my engine is building (lol), but I’m having fun
- Got the bike out to make cardio a little more fun
- Weekly YouTube dropped & bagged another day with Robbie.

Sent a feedback form to my clients this week.
Asked for honesty.
Got kindness.

Which tells me two things.

One, I’ve got good clients.
Two, I can’t rely on a form to know if I’m doing my job properly.

The real work happens before someone gets to the point of needing to say something isn’t working.

Watch patterns.
Ask better questions.
Stay close enough to the problem to actually understand it.

That’s the job.

Also five people asked to train with me in person so clearly something’s going right.

The infamous : ”I’ll start when...”

Finish that sentence and I’ll show you why it’s bull.
Not to be harsh.
To be honest.
Because I’ve heard every version of it.
The money excuse.
The birthday excuse.
The “I just need to get my head right first” excuse.

And every single time, the person saying it already knows the real answer.

They’re not waiting for the right time.
They’re scared it won’t work.
That’s it.
That’s the whole thing.
And the longer you wait, the more evidence your brain collects that you’re someone who doesn’t follow through.
