Strong performance today for the boys against one of our toughest and respected opponents Rawmarsh St Josephs.

We always know we need to dig deep against these boys because they know how to use their space well and give us very little room for mistakes.

With a great start we knew Rawmarsh wouldn't allow us to take it easy. After a quick break they responded from the off pulling it straight back.

With some cracking defending, battling across the middle of the park and excellent passing of the ball in the final 3rd, we managed another brilliant 2nd half. The work rate and desire from the boys never let's up and as a team it's something we are proud of.

A thoroughly enjoyable game to watch.

These boys……..what an effort that was today! 😊

Today they entered a tough North Derbyshire Tournament which was littered with some wonderful teams of which some we knew from South Yorkshire, and others from Derbyshire and the Midlands.

The league we were put in was difficult, and it didn’t start well 😆 with a loss, but then they grew into the games and finished top of the group 🤌

On to the QF, the lads were convincing and then in the semis it went to pens, coming out on top in the dreaded pens for a change.

Out of 32 teams the lads made it to the final and played against a Coalville team full of players from multiple academies and played a good game, drawing 0-0 and going to penalties again…..only to lose 3-2 which was heartbreaking for the boys.

They can be so proud, I know we are 🥰💙❤️

We play in the A division on a Sunday and train at Parkgate Astro all weather pitch in Rotherham.

The existing lads are a great bunch and so are the parents.

Wickersley Youth Blacks U9’s (from Sep) are looking for a GK to join the squad asap. The lads play at a high level and are in division A when the season starts, but more importantly, they are a smashing group of boys with great attitudes and a welcoming bunch.

Good run out for the lads tonight to shake off any potential hangover from Sundays pen shoot out finale.

Tonight they came up against Aston Swallownest and it was a good opportunity for both teams to try out new players and trialists.

We’ve found a GK in Joey who deputised with Chaz for the unavailability of T Dog. Joey….the only GK in the world who doesn’t use his hands to save shots 🤷

WY U9’s BLACKS had an amazing tournament today, narrowly losing out to the dreaded penalty shootout in the final against Brunsmeer.

The boys can be so proud, out of 32 teams there can only be 1 winner and to lose out having not lost a game in the 11 games played from the 7 group games, quarter final, semi final and the final, only conceding 1 goal in all 11 games, then onto the lottery of pens….they can hold their heads high.

These lads leave it all out there on the pitch and what will be will be, so proud 💙💙💙💙

▪️WHAT▪️A▪️DAY▪️

We participated in the Dinninton Town U9s football festival today.

Placed in a group with some quality teams we asked the boys to knuckle down and do their best.

With a minimum of 5 x 20 minute games to play, we knew this was going to be a tough ask.

Well not only did they knuckle down, they absolutely smashed it.

The boys never conceded a single goal. With 5 wins and a 0-0 draw they absolutely deserved their trophy today.

Proud is an understatement.

Unbelievable teamwork to both create chances and solidly defend for a total of 120 minutes with lots of waiting around in-between games. Their ability to refocus each game was fantastic.

They should all be unbelievably proud.

These boooyyyys 🚀

Huge well done to the lads but also parents and siblings travelling through rush hour on a Weds night the other side of Sheffield to play Dronfield.

In short - the lads bossed it from the beginning with some great passing play. Big pitches suit these lads with their athleticism and hustle, mixed in with clever combination play 👏
