OVER THE MOON 🥹
1st place in open class D and absolutely stood my ground in the overall!! Waiting on judges feedback but they went for a softer & slightly less muscular girl for the overall win today. This is quite often the case in regional shows, whereas in pro qualifiers and especially pro quals abroad, they tend to opt for more conditioned & more muscular physiques so we’re in a really good spot heading into Milan in 2 weeks 😁
The plan is to come in tighter then fill up more 😎

I cannot give enough thanks to everybody who came to watch me today (I had no idea they were coming, they followed me round the car park on find my friends and jumped out at me LOL) - you all made my day

has been ace, I’m nearly 2 years into working with Josh and it’s just been such a breeze and we’re very much on the same page which is great. Nothing is over complicated, we just get the job done no dramas

I thought I’d be disappointed that I didn’t win the overall but I couldn’t be any further from that - I am SO happy with the overall look and absolutely loved the package I bought to the stage. I was so much calmer, I was so proud and I felt so confident in what I was presenting to the judges. I’ve absolutely trumped my last stage showing. Last time I competed (sept 2021) I said next show I wont compete again until I am undeniably better, and that’s exactly what I did

Realised I’ve posted absolutely nothing since starting prep purely because I’ve just been ticking the boxes and enjoying doing so :)

Today I compared the current 8.5 week out look to last prep’s 7 weeks out (8 week out photos were 🥔 quality) and it made the 2.5 year long slog of an off season feel completely worth it 🙌🏻

This season is all about seeing how I do as an improved amateur competitor and gaining my first experience of competing abroad 🇮🇹

I’m under NO illusion that I’m ready to be aiming for a pro card this season - my back pose in particular is still a long way off (but it has improved a LOT)

This season will hopefully give us a good indication of roughly how long the next off season should be in order to approach the following season with the view to be aiming for a pro card 💳

I love this sport so much and I have every confidence that I have the discipline needed to keep putting the work in to achieve everything I want to in due time 🫶🏻

So for now it’s knuckle down, dig hard and keep smiling through the prep feels that are starting to pop up 😁

120lb at 8 weeks out in 2021 vs 120lb at 16 weeks out now, there’s clear difference which is all that matters at the end of the day :)

4 months apart & 15lb difference

Working with Cody feels like working on a really cool school project together lol - we’ve worked together since day one of just general training, to Cody starting to show an interest in competing, to making the decision she wanted to compete and changing her training to be working toward the bikini category.

We’ve just recently finished her first mini cut which we executed just like a prep with no off plan meals other than 1 planned in the penultimate week so I could see how her body responded. We’ve both learned a huge amount about her body from this cut which was exactly why we needed to do it to gather information for a real prep in the future.

We’ve been reversing calories back up now but as Cody is being meticulous with this post diet phase (which is very hard), her weight is holding so we’ve got fantastic runway to keep on bumping up those cals 😍🔥

Some people are just made for competing, and Cody is one of them ✅

Pre prep diet complete!
9 weeks of a good solid push dropping off 15lb total.
Steps were 15k daily, 120 mins stairs across the week and cals ended at 1691 training day & 1660 rest day with just 1 off plan meal in the 9 weeks for Valentine’s Day! 🍕

Removing a good chunk of fat now means less work to do on prep, which means less physical stress on the body and mind - this will go a long way to make this an easier prep with a better end result!

POA now: food increases this week to settle my hunger horemones ready for 6 days in New York & my birthday next week 🗽🎉
Lots of my clients have asked how I’m going to be navigating NY - I will be eating pretty much whatever I want however I will not be STUPID. Everything I eat will be because I really want it, if there’s food left on my plate and I’m full - I leave it. I will still stick to avoiding unnecessary extra cals I.E sticking to zero cal drinks & mainly black coffees cos drinking calories is just not worth it to me

Steps will likely range from 20-30k daily and we’ve picked a hotel with a gym in so I’ll be doing probably around 20 mins fasted cardio every morning.
High activity cannot off set high calorie intake, but it can certainly help to minimize it as well as aiding digestion when eating a load of abnormal foods.

This will be my last holiday before prep so I’m 100% going to enjoy food and fully expect to gain probably around 5lb max but this will drop off very quickly as I’ll be straight back on plan once back.

Then it’ll be a month and a half of gradual calorie increases before prep starts 😁😁

What an IMMENSE journey this has been!!

Cody has absolutely MORPHED her physique 🤯🤯
The first picture is June to now so not even 6 months apart, but this is when we changed her check in picture poses to bikini poses instead of unposed so better comparison.

Cody has been relentlessly consistent with her training and nutrition and it has absolutely paid off. She trains whether she wants to or not, eats when she wants to or not, and she ensures she goes to bed early enough to be up to train at 5am (🤢).

I strongly believe one of the biggest factors in Cody’s success though is her training intensity. She’s learnt how to take sets to absolute FAILURE when necessary and she’s not afraid to pull faces/ get sweaty/ huff and puff and THIS is why she’s made such an insane change.
Being able to teach training intensity is one of my favourite things about training people face to face 🥰

I’ve watched Cody absolutely blossom as both an athlete and a person and absolutely loved being a part of her journey and cannot wait to continue watching her progression.

3.5 months left of this growing phase before we enter our first dieting phase which I am super super excited for!!

Well done Cody, you’ve done me so proud :)❤️
