In our game today vs Groves, our captain Owen Dennedy suffered a serious leg injury that’s going to see him off work for a substantial amount of time. The lads registered their first win of the season today against Highgate FC in the first round of the Mexborough Challenge Cup, winning 3-2. We never really got going and never got out of 1st gear however did enough to get over the line. We must’ve had 7/8 chances to make the scoreline more however couldn’t convert them which has been the story of our season so far. Highgate never stopped and we wish them all the best for the rest of their respective season. First goal in tap colours for manager Phil King as he put the lads 3-1 in front after coming on as a substitute appearance.

A disappointing defeat in our 2nd game of the season…
We fall short in today’s game, after dominating so much of the game and not taking our chances, we crash to a loss of 4-1 to Ville Fc.
Moments in the game killed us, sending off being one and a few mistakes and over the last 2 week, we’ve learnt the hard way that in this league that we will get punished for any mistake. All the best to Ville, top set of lads and we look forward to the away fixture against them.

The points are shared in our first game of the season….

Thurnscoe tap FC 3 - 3 Gym bar FC

A couple of very dubious decisions today from the referee makes the result very sour and feels like a loss… it took us 60minutes to get out of 1st gear and had chances to win the game, but couldn’t take the 3 points in the end. Great resilience and battle from the lads to come from 3-1 down to 3-3 with ten men but we did enough in the end to win the game. All the best to Gym Bar and we look forward to the next time we meet at their place.

TOMMOROW….

The 25/26 season finally kicks off and our Mexborough Premier Division campaign begins. We host ‘ Gym Bar FC ‘ in what promises to be a cracking game between two evenly matched teams. With 3 games against eachother with Gym Bar winning 2 and drawing one, the lads are dying to get the first 3 points on board of the season. With the lads still on a massive high from last weekend, we’re eager to get back on the grass and continue to show what we can do. Come support the lads if you can on the running track!
