Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club - Great day at the Yorkshire PGA Pro-Am at Abbeydale Golf Club.

Bob Marshall - Dan Savage and Jordan Rhodes in the team which ended up on 77 in very very windy conditions.

In the Pro Individual it was nice to defend strongly and Tie for 1st Place 🥇 on 69/-2 controlled the ball well in the main, and keeps me ticking along in prep for the PGA Cup 🇮🇪.

Great Members Masterclass last evening working through some pitching and loft work with the guys, it’s worth noting that you find that there’s always some good things already being undertaken by the player.

What does good look like from certain situations? How to practice more efficiently when it’s going well and when it isn’t.

Some great discussion around awkward lies and that dreaded one over the bunker !!

Great to see Jamie Van Wyk the current English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Amateur Champion from Royal Lytham at the club today to do some short game with me, in preparation for First Stage of Tour School.

Working on some baseline and benchmarking around the Green keeping things simple by putting with loft and standing round the ball better and using loft more effectively controlling the ball flight in a more simple manner.

Expectation management and what does good look like from certain situations.

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️- Super Lady Member Group Session this morning in searing heat.

The theme was Bunkers & Loft - some brilliant discussion around best ways to get out of a bunker in one shot which centres around standing to the ball really well with a few characteristics that would really help the ball flight and depth of sand with excellent results I might add !!!

As always the sessions are greatly supported and a lot of fun and very enjoyable for both players and the coach alike.

Look forward to the next one.

Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club Family Out at Lees Hall this morning to see the team off.

Good luck to Ethan Crooks, Dom Jurevics and Em Wilkinson in our last Junior Match, so far we’ve won all 5 matches and it would of course be great to go 6 for 6.

However, what I’ve seen at these matches all season is absolutely wonderful sportsmanship between players, respect and some fierce competition in the best possible way.

I insist on players winning as a team and losing as a team and making sure that the team ethos is respectful to each individual, players, parents and anyone involved in these matches.

These players have carried that mantle for both Rotherham Golf Club and for me which makes the result insignificant, in sport this is exactly what it should be like with no exception.

It’s a great lesson for my boys being here and seeing how these young players carry themselves.

Proud of the human first, player second.

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️- Nice to be recognised by The PGA for 10years as a Fully Qualified Professional im proud of my work as it’s an ongoing journey of learning and progression.

I decided to specialise in coaching as most of you know which is where my expertise lie, I decided to then pursue the PGA Excel Path of gaining my “Fellow Coach” status with the help of my mentor and long term coach Graham Walker who I’m indebted to.

I’ve throughly enjoyed developing players of all levels from brand new players to paid ranks of being a professional as I help other young PGA pros navigate their own journey on my own mentorship program.

Through coaching Yorkshire Girls Performance Squads at Rotherham Golf Club it became the hub of the South of the County and latterly it was a huge honour to then be appointed head coach to the England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Boys Regional U18’s Squad.

Obviously, the playing opportunities that the PGA have offered to me has been great as it helps me stay current with my coaching offering players the chance to take to the course with me and cover strategy and course management.

With over 100 PGA event wins whether that be within the county, region or national events is super pleasing having had my injury troubles for four years around 2011.

Finally, the people that I’ve met through golf has been absolutely brilliant and inspiring the support I receive on a daily basis, other coaches become friends and the array of players that trust you with their golf games is also fantastic as there’s some players that have been with me from the word go.
