Playing Update - Great week at Slaley Hall for our PGA of Great Britain 🇬🇧 Championships always one you look forward to.

A credible T7th Position from what I was told between 850 and 1,000 PGA professionals who try to qualify for the event.

Rounds of 73-69-75-73 in high winds & rain ☔️ was pleasing as this was one brute of a course in this kind of weather.

The added bonuses of finishing inside the top 10 from this event are :-

- Exemption into next years PGA Championship
- Exemption into Open Final Qualifying

Also getting to go for dinner midweek with my sister who was up in Newcastle as luck 🍀 would have it !!

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club Rotherham Golf Club Ltd ⛳️⛳️ - Playing Update - Great couple of days here up at Moray GC near Inverness for the The PGA Open Series - Northern Open, huge thanks to everyone involved for putting on a great event.

The weather was great the first day and absolutely Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 the second day 🤣🤣

The biggest thing for me today was so pleasing to go bogey free and in fact only make one bogey in 36 holes, rounds of 63/-8 and 67/-4 gave me a -12 total. 63 being my seasons PB 📈

3rd position on my own in another quality field keeps the momentum going.

Thanks for all the messages of support, it spurs me on !! See you at the club tomorrow & over the weekend💙⛳️

⛳️⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️⛳️

Well Done to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Regional Squad player Ollie Scott for winning yesterday in the Yorkshire Boys Championship at Rotherham Golf Club.

I’ve only had Ollie with me since October/November but what I do know is he’s a great worker and has done some brilliant stuff during our time and really gives 100%, first class attitude and keeps going.

Other notables would be Lewi O’ Rourke and Elliott Alcock both inside the top ten aswell which is brilliant as it’s still early days.

The course was presented quite beautifully and as I was around in a coaching capacity for the players in our squad I can honestly say there was a great atmosphere around from players and officials - it’s a top class venue for these types of events and the hospitality given by our front of house is and was top notch.

Quick turnaround for the Yorkshire Boys at my Home Club Rotherham Golf Club with my England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Regional Boys as tournament support which is fantastic, a lot of hard work gone into making the course absolutely top drawer. The greens are superb and will pose a challenge to these players.

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️ - Playing Update - Absolutely delighted to win this PGA Open Series Event (Midland Open) at Peterborough Milton GC.

Had a few close ones last season so was great to get this over the line from 9 behind at the start of the day.

A pretty flawless 65/-6 in tricky firm conditions got me into a playoff with Tom Hamson and a birdie at the Second Extra Hole was good enough to take the title.

Golf isn’t easy and I’d not really been playing all that well but it just shows you that you have to stick with it and keep showing up.

Onto Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 next week at Moray.

Thanks for following and all your messages it’s been quite overwhelming and thanks to those who stayed behind for the playoff.

Peterborough Milton was in great shape The PGA well done to all involved it’s appreciated by me and all the players I’m sure !!

We have a winner at the Callaway Chrome Tour PGA Open Series (Midlands) 🏆

James Freeman (Rotherham Golf Club) takes the title at Peterborough Milton Golf Club after a playoff with Thomas Hamson, carding a brilliant 65 (-6) in the final round - including five consecutive birdies on the back nine.

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️- Junior Coaching Update - Here we are out on the green on this fine Saturday.

Ethan Crooks here wanting to work on his putting, Ethan always has a plan in mind when we work together and as a coach I just give information.

Ethan has a superb touch around the green with those short chip shots so I know that skill could transfer over into his putting as that’s a fine motor skill aswell.

The first part was start line, the putter was going outside with the face closing so on left to right putts the ball was starting wide causing the player to think the read or pace was off.

We sat the club slightly more upright in his left hand thus giving him a greater sensation of where the clubface was throughout.

The rest just clicked as I knew his pace control and reading were pretty good, often in coaching it’s the correct domino to get everything to fall.

As you can see this was the 4th in a row !

Testament to that was him winning his Junior League match Singles game in the afternoon feeding back that his putting was much improved, it’s great to hear players taking it to the course straight away and trusting the process of improving. Well Done - Ethan Class Human - Class Player

⛳️⛳️Rotherham Golf Club Ltd Rotherham Pro Shop at Rotherham Golf Club ⛳️⛳️ - Junior Coaching Update - Today was the first session to launch our brand new Junior Coaching Program.

I designed it to help bring more structure which includes some tasks done independently and as a team and group.

The group were engaged, having fun and learning whilst writing their notes in the logbook provided at this first session.

The clubs continuous commitment and vision to Junior Development is first class as was the young players attitudes to learning new skills and gaining more knowledge, I designed it off the back of what I do with the England Regional Squads just in a junior context, which has also been a success driven by data 📈 leading me to deliver the most important parts of golf at this grass roots level.

I’m looking forward to delivering this program over the 10 weeks as I feel this is essential for children to develop in this way.
