Thorpe Hesley & High Green Cricket Club We are a progressive and developing cricket club based in South Yorkshire at Junction 35 of the M1. We thank all our sponsors for their continued support.

We were founded in 2014 following the merger of Thorpe Hesley CC (Est.1904) and High Green Village CC (Est.1999). The club is dedicated to developing the playing standards of all our cricketers and creating a culture where cricket and competitive sport is enjoyed. We run various events for the wider community during the year, this includes hosting county age group cricket matches, holding car boot sales and hosting an annual bonfire night. Holding these events allows the club to invest further in our facilities which have improved rapidly in recent years.

CHAMPIONS! 🏆
What a way to finish the season!
With the league title and promotion already within reach, THGCC Sunday XI produced a performance worthy of champions at home against Finningley, smashing 333 before bowling the visitors out for 146 to win by a massive 187 runs.

The batting was absolute carnage. Keagan Thiele got things moving with a blistering 67 off just 32 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. Thomas Parker then took over, smashing an outstanding 91 from 48 balls with nine fours and six sixes. The middle order kept the scoreboard ticking before skipper Adi Singh joined the party with a superb 87 from 50 balls, including thirteen fours and three sixes as THGCC eventually posted a huge total of 333.

There was still plenty of work to do with the ball before the celebrations could start!

David Grant led the way with an excellent 3/14 from five overs, while Isaac picked up 2/23 and Angel claimed 2/30. Ven Suddapalli also had a day to remember, taking 2/2 from just two overs.
Ian Oliver took his first ever senior wicket as Finningley were bowled out for 146 in just 30 overs.

And the final Man of the Match award goes to Thomas Parker after his brilliant 91 with the bat, although he did try to smash the clubhouse with some big sixes!

Special mention to the all players from Finningley who gave us a great game of cricket on and off the pitch! Thanks for being an amazing sport in the final game of the season!

The result means THGCC Sunday XI finish the season as Division 3 CHAMPIONS and will be playing Division 2 cricket next season. 🏆

The final game of the season for the Second XI brought plenty of drama to the THGCC home ground, with everything riding on the result. A win would have seen the team stay in Division 5, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be as Warmsworth edged home by just three wickets.

Batting first, THGCC found runs hard to come by, with Iain MacDonald top-scoring with 27, followed by Thomas Arnold with 23 and Linton Shore with 21. Aditya Singh finished unbeaten on 16 from 21 balls, while James Proctor added 16. The wickets kept falling, however, and THGCC were eventually bowled out for 135.

The bowlers then gave the home side plenty to cheer about. Thomas Arnold was outstanding, producing a superb spell of 3/14 from 13 overs, including 9 maidens. Aditya Singh also picked up 3/56, with Nasser Rasool adding 1/29.
Warmsworth were made to work hard for the runs, with THGCC taking seven wickets and keeping the game in the balance right until the final stages. Sadly, Warmsworth eventually reached 139/7 in the last over to seal a narrow three-wicket victory.

Man of the Match goes to Thomas Arnold after an excellent all-round performance, contributing 23 with the bat before turning in a brilliant 3/14 with the ball. A thoroughly deserved way to finish the season.

Unfortunately, the defeat means THGCC will be relegated to Division 6 next season. It’s a tough one to take, especially with survival so close, but there’s plenty to build on and plenty of cricket to look forward to next year!

THGCC First XI signed off a fantastic season with a 10-run victory away at Millhouses Works — and what a way to finish! 🏏
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, THGCC put a massive
345-8 on the board. The star of the show was Keagan Thiele, who smashed a superb 148 from 118 balls, including 18 fours and four sixes. A brilliant innings that quite rightly earned him Man of the Match. 👏

There were plenty of other useful contributions too, with Jack Pemberton and Naeem Bashir both making 38, while Elliot Couldwell finished unbeaten on 32 from just 23 balls.

Millhouses came out fighting in the chase, but THGCC’s bowlers kept chipping away. Keagan added two wickets to his incredible day, while Ashley Reynolds, Christopher Keeler, Naeem Bashir and Elliot Couldwell also got among the wickets. Millhouses eventually finished on 283-6, 10 runs short of the revised target.

A big score, a tight finish and a Man of the Match performance to remember — a pretty good way to wrap things up!

And after a fantastic season, there’s an even bigger reason to celebrate… THGCC will be playing Division 1 cricket next season! 🚀
