Scholes & Harley Cricket Club Scholes & Harley CC is an Amateur Cricket Club based in Scholes Village, Rotherham.

We have three open age teams competing in Division 6 & 9 of the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League & Division 3 East of the Barnsley & District Cricket League.

2s Match report vs Richmond:

Last game of the season started with the skipper losing the toss and being put into the field. Openers Josh Wilkie (available to sponsor) and Oliver Lister (The Candy Van) opened, with Oli taking the first wicket at 19/1. First change saw Jacob Sverdloff (available to sponsor) and Wayne Hinchliffe (New York Talk) – yes, you read that right. Jacob took a wicket in the 13th over, leaving the visitors 54/2. After Wayne’s cameo, Jordan Bolland (HLM Architects) came on at the other end, taking a wicket in his first over with a great one-handed grab by Sam Ferris at cover. Jordan struck again with the same combination in the next over. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, and another one-handed catch at gully by Thomas George (available to sponsor) saw Jordan finish with 7/35! Incredible spell! Oli came back on to take the final wicket, leaving the visitors 144 all out.

Richmond were instantly on the back foot as Thomas George dispatched two fours in the first over. George continued to put the foot down and scored 24 off 22. Simon Sverdloff (available to sponsor) dug in as Alain David (available to sponsor) decided to start the fireworks to end the season, proceeding to dispatch the ball to all parts for 67 off 68! Jacob Sverdloff backed him at the other end until he was caught at midwicket. Josh Wilkie decided to join the party, smashing 26 with a huge 6 to win the game by 6 wickets. A cracking end to the season! 3 wins out of 4!

We would like to say thank you to all our sponsors and all the volunteers who have helped throughout the season. Without any of these we wouldn’t have a club. For the final time this year, this weekends squads! Many thanks to this weekends match ball sponsors, your support is greatly appreciated.

After a defeat last time out, and results going against us, unfortunately the 1s are officially relegated from division 6. They will look to go out with a bang and do the double over todays opponents , to try and improve on their current league standing of 10th.

The 2s face Richmond hoping to avenge a couple of defeats to them already this season. They will look to make it 3 wins from 4 and finish the season strongly.

The Sunday side wrap up their season away to Mexborough on Sunday, and will hope they can make it two wins on the bounce after victory against Thurgoland last week.

A look ahead at this weekends fixtures. Hopefully the rain holds off and we get some cricket in this weekend unlike last...

A look ahead at this weekends fixtures. Hopefully the rain holds off and we get some cricket in this weekend unlike last.

The 1s play division 6 champions Sheffield Centralians at home. With the firsts occupying the last relegation spot in the division, and this being their penultimate game of the season, a win is a must in this fixture.

The 2s travel to Worksop College to play Tickhill for the third time this season. After losing by less than 10 runs in the last two games against them, the 2s will look to get one over on them and finish their season with a flurry by making it three wins on the bounce!

The Sunday side entertain Thurgoland at home and will be hoping for a better result than they had in the reverse fixture.

All three games are available for match ball sponsorship. To sponsor the match ball for any one of these games it would be £10, or if you would like to sponsor all three games this weekend we would do this for £25! Please message the page if interested.
