Weekend roundup ‼️

A great 15 point win for the 1s against a good streethouse side. The skipper won the toss on a very overcast Saturday afternoon down at the chiger bowl. Oh yes, that’s correct he did choose to bat first.

A decent start this week from the openers especially Muzamil Afridi (91) who held the innings together as the middle order were back for a shower early doors. Tahseen Shinwari (30) also had other ideas as he helped Muzamil and rmcc post a score of 178 all out.

A slow start from streethouse but they finally found there rhythm and you could tell as the hosts were getting more nervous ball by ball. Mehboob Yaqub (3-29) and Waqas Alam (3-36) were the show bowlers this week seeing the visitors all out for 176.

No seconds game this week as hensall conceded but they still pick up the vital 16 points on there promotion charge.

1s away to Thurnscoe next week in what could be a feisty affair. No seconds game again as it’s there week to miss out.

Thank you to all players and sponsors this weekend.

A tough weekend for the 1sts but high flying seconds take 15 points off opposition Newton hill.

Let’s start with the 2s.

Losing the toss the visitors put us in and we knew we had to be on our game to get anything out of this. Slow start seen the openers back to the shed early on. Dale Lattimore pick of the batters (69) helped rmcc on there way to post a score of 144 all out.

Some would say spirits were high as what could possibly be the best bowling attack in the league took the field. 2 words for the second half of the innings. Nick Ashton. That is all. Figures of 10 overs 3 maidens 8 wickets for 18 runs. Helped the 2s massively seeing Newton hill all out for 33. Top spot is still ours after ferrybridge conceded there game and had to take the -5 points deduction.

Moving over to the 1s and no surprise skipper called correctly and they would bat. Amjad Ali (46) and Hassan Malik (49*) helped the visitors to post a score of 164 all out.

Half a fighting chance at the break but some good batting from Newton hill seen the home side reach the score with 5 overs to go.

1s at home to streethouse next week and 2s travel to hensall where they look to keep pole position coming up to half way in the season.

Thank you to all players and sponsors this week.

Weekend roundup ‼️

It wasn’t ment to be for the 1s this week as they only take 4 points from this weeks game at notton, missing the chance to be table toppers early on in the season.

The hosts winning the toss and electing to bat. In what was tough conditions the 1s knew it would be a long day in the field but with Yousaf Rana (6-24) having other ideas seeing the middle order back to the pavilion. With notton all out for 152 they knew they had to be on the ball with the bat.

Another slow start batting for the visitors and they knew that they were in a pickle as they were 29-4. Muzamil Afridi (31) being the pick of the batters. Not quite enough for the 1s this week as they fell 19 runs short for 133 all out.

Over to the 2s where they keep the winning run going against a good garforth side. Winning the toss the visitors decided to have a bat in what some would say the right decision.

We knew it could be a decent day as Brendan Parker (3-19) struck in the first over. Before you knew it the away side were 11-4 and we knew we just had to keep digging away and the visitors. Pick of the bowlers Nick Ashton (4-11) had the ball moving round corners as the Garforth side seemed to struggle to get him away. The lads kept going and seen them all out for 62.

A good start from Dale Lattimore(17) put us on the front foot but as wickets started tumbling the away side were up in there spirits and the hosts started to struggle. A worldie catch from the keeper and a dodgy LBW decision seen the hosts lose another 2 wickets for not so many runs. Brendan Parker (25*) and match winner Dan Gilbride (11*) seen the win home with a T rex pull shot for 4 and a shot through backward point for 3 keeping the 16 points down at the chiger bowl.

Next week 1st at home to Pledwick and 2nds away against Balby Recreation as they look to keep the winning run going and hopefully be table toppers by 7pm Saturday night!

Thank you to all players and sponsors again this weekend.

Did someone say rosso double?

Let’s start with the 1s who have made a fabulous start to there season in division 3. They were away at Horbury Bridge bringing back maximum points.

Rossington won the toss and who knew that skipper Abdul Hafiz would elect to bat? Similar to last week a slow start seeing the visitors tied up on 73-6. A 98 run partnership from Yousef Rana (61) and Ali Ilyas (49) gave the 1s something to defend as they were all out for 231.

A tough start for the away side as Horbury Bridge we’re 95 without loss. Pick of the bowlers Ali Ilyas (4-53) seeing the middle order back to the shed. A very good performance seen the home side all out for 199.

Over to the the chiger bowl where the 2s hosted Barnby Dunn in the “Doncaster derby.” Winning the toss the away side decided to put themselves in to bat thinking they would hit a big score after the last few weekends but the chigers had different ideas.

Good bowling from Phil loversuch (3-15) kept the run rate down. As wickets started tumbling Brendan parker (4-14) seen the innings being mopped up and keeping the visitors down to a reasonable score of 97 all out.

Another slow start to the batting seen the barnby dunn field start to think they had a chance in this game. Surya behara (32*) and Dale Lattimore (30) had other ideas when the runs were knocked off in just under 30 overs. This sees the 2s pick up another 16 point win.

Next week the 1s travel to Notton to continue there good form and the 2s host Garforth in what could be a very important game for the league table.

Thank you to all players and sponsors this weekend.
