Dolphins in Cardigan Bay. What a lovely morning! Driac’s passage from Oban to Milford Haven is safely completed.

With a fantastic season of sailing in the Western Isles complete, Driac is now sailing south to Milford Haven for the winter. We set off at dusk last night and caught the tide through the sound of Luing and the sound of Jura. At the Mull of Kintyre we had to start the engine but have now reached the Mull of Galloway to anchor for supper. 120 miles in 24 hours is a good chunk of the way. From now on we have light or contrary winds so progress may slow a bit, but the company is good.

Last night during a night sail in the Sound of Raasay we had dolphins swimming around the bow in phosphorescence for about ten minutes. Does it get any better than this? Probably not.

Driac’s website is down at the moment; sadly this is due to a dishonest host who has taken my money and failed to renew domain registration. I am working on restoring it but this may take some time.
Please note that all courses this year are filled and there are just a couple of spaces on the voyage south from Oban to Milford Haven in September.

Driac heads to Falmouth via the Scillies tomorrow, then by way of the Three Peaks Yacht Race to Scotland where we have a season of courses. Almost all are fully booked now but there are just a few places for the passage south in mid September. Get in touch if you're interested.

A place has been freed up by a cancellation for the 5 day course 19-23rd July from Oban to Kyle of Lochalsh. This is suitable for Competent Crew, Day Skipper or Coastal Skipper and should be a fantastic chance to explore the Western Isles at the best time of year. If you’re an aspirant coastal skipper or Yachtmaster needing experience of skippering on overnight passages, Driac has a few places left on the Falmouth Classics cruise in early June and a passage south from Oban to Milford Haven in September. Courses have booked up quickly this year so don’t hang about!

Driac is ready for the season's RYA training and cruises, just a bit of admin to do now. There are still some places for the Falmouth Classics trip in June, for a Scottish islands trip 25th July and two dates in September, otherwise we are fully booked.
