Its been a funny year or two. Not much diving being done.
What with Covid, accidents, body repairs etc. as well as divers moving home and the decorating it entails.
We've kept in touch with some of our old members best we can, which has benefitted the club with redundant kit.
Many thanks to Joanna H and Chris H for the bits of kit donated, no longer needed. We did manage to train a couple of young ladies, six formers and the wife of a diver.
The club owns a 6M Osprey Viper RIB, with 130HP V6 Outboard.
It is parked in a members garden. It needs a good home!!
We are only looking for a donation. If interested contact us on this web site. Regards Don Punnett

Only 4 of us managed to get away to Egypt this spring. Blue O2 sorted out the hotel and flights, doing a cracking job.
We contacted Emperor Divers for a dive package, having successfully dived with them before. Very professional and their staff are superb. We had a wounded diver who they hoisted in and out of the water (broken foot) and another who cant climb ladders fully kitted. The shakedown dive led onto a wreck the "Million Hope" huge ship, like diving a reef.
Drift, drop off and the Gardens. Fish too many to name, Nudibranch, Moray, Clown with babies you name it. They also tried hard to get us on the Thistlegorm, to no avail.
Thanks Emperor Divers & the dive boat Marcos & crew. A great week!!

Last week a few members felt the urge to submerge, so a ring round found enough for two pairs to dive at NDAC.
Sandy wanted to try out her recent birthday pressy from Dave J. A rather nice Cannon camera and a super housing. Don and Jamie joined them for the second dive for a camera shoot.
We are expecting some cracking pictures when Sandy gets round to down loading them. Watch this space.

Six of us went to NDAC (Chepstow) yesterday, we needed a dive to check out kit and divers.
Anna & David Hutch, Helen & Don then late risers Sandy & Dave J paired off.
All had long deep dives, Helen & Don dropped down to the helicopter, surprised by how much it had deteriorated. Over the Caroline and up to the Abbot, cruised passed the other vehicles & exited up the ramp.
Anna & David, stayed shallow as a shakedown, then dived the single decker & the maze for their second.
Sandy & Dave J went all over the place as usual.
We were well impressed with the NDAC staff, so helpful & courteous.
I couldn't believe an ignorant, loud mouthed Diver refused to wear a mask on the shuttle bus, abusing the driver for enforcing the rules.
Looking forward to our next outing.

It looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel at last.
Some dive sites are opening next month Cromhall quarry for one. We are trying to organise pairs for a shake down dive Saturday 3rd April. For those interested, you need to book online, watch out for their entry code replys going to spam.

We have been in maintaining contact through WATSAP's video links, drink in hand on Wednesday evenings.
Already starting to plan a physical meeting outside somewhere. We need to get in the water. Keep safe.šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ

Still in lock down, so no diving.
Cannot see much happening till end of March.
Stay safe, keep distancing, see you. Don PšŸ‘Œ
