It was my pleasure to receive the award and I am proud of all that have been involved in the Swadlincote Town Fc set up to allow us to evolve and become part of something bigger than us all to ensure that all children of all abilities have the opportunities to play sports.
Without volunteers this wouldn’t be possible.
A big thank you to the families of all volunteers, as you give up so much to allow the volunteers to give up their time to help.
Your Stapenhill FC Clubsman of The Year is Nick Oliver!
“Volunteering can at times feel like a thankless task, but as a club we recognise and truly appreciate every individual who helps make Stapenhill Football Club a better place.
Volunteers are increasingly hard to come by, and it’s important that we come together to recognise not only those within our club, but across all organisations who give up their time for others.
This year’s Clubman of The Year award was closely contested, which is a testament to the fantastic people involved across the club. However, one individual has stood out over the past 12 months…
Congratulations to Nick Oliver.
Nick has played a huge role in strengthening and stabilising the Ladies First Team, helping to turn things around and build a close-knit, committed group. That environment is a real testament to Nick and those working alongside him.
Beyond that, Nick goes above and beyond for the Girls & Ladies section taking on countless roles, including helping to maintain the ground. He has also supported wider club events and assisted with preparations at Maple Grove, always stepping up when needed.
On behalf of the club, and personally from me, a huge thank you to Nick, this recognition is thoroughly deserved.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our volunteers. Whether you’re serving drinks, cooking food, cleaning kits, maintaining the grounds, supporting hospitality, keeping the books, or helping behind the scenesyour efforts do not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of this football community club.
Thank you, and congratulations again, Nick. Well deserved”. Jim Connell, Chairman
