Fishery update

Lakes fishing really well with steady match weights and lots of action for pleasure anglers.

Last weeks open was won by Stu Dabbs with 104.14, Keith Theobalds 65.15 was second and James Aldridge third with 63.01.

Couple of spaces left for tomorrow’s open.

The Top lake has been producing lots of carp to mid doubles, great to see so many young anglers on the bank.

This weekend the horseshoe and top lake are available Saturday and Sunday as well as one of the match canals on Sunday.

Lots of junior anglers enjoyed the fishery this weekend, here’s 7 year old Roman with a carp expertly caught on the pole, well done and a great photo.

All lakes available for pleasure fishing the rest of the week, weather looks favourable as well!

Saturdays match results

Sixteen anglers fished yesterday’s open across the red and blue canals. Mick Fordham made a spring time reappearance and won the day with 102.08 from red 4, Stu Dabbs 80.11 was second, Mark Richardsons 58.00 was best on Blue from peg 7 and Neil Thurstons 47.04 second.

Lots of fish caught all round, next open match Saturday 11 April.

Weekend availability

Some good fishing being enjoyed this week, lots of young anglers spending time on the bank, here’s 9 year old Jax with a 6lb common caught on float fished sweetcorn.

See below for availability over the weekend, fishery opens at 8am and closes at 7pm.

Sunday top lake only

Saturdays match results

Open match on the two canals on Saturday , bright conditions and a cold wind meant the fishing was a challenge but still a close match. Gavin Millis won the day with 67.09 from blue 5, Jamie’s Burts 65.11 was best on red from peg 10 and Brett’s 59.00 from blue 3 was next best weight.

Next open match is Saturday 4 April on both canals, draw at 8.30 and fish 10-4.

Today at the Fishery

Great to see so many visitors enjoying the fishing and today’s sunshine, plenty of bites for both match and pleasure anglers.

Open match on the canals was won by Stu Dabbs with 82.09 from blue 9, Keith Theobalds 80.05 was best on red from peg 6. Mark Richardsons 77.08 was next best weight from red 1, well done and thanks to all that fished, next open match is Saturday 28 March.

Disappointment of the day was the amount of litter left behind, especially on the horseshoe, a complete lack or respect for the fishery. We shouldn’t have to spend our evenings bagging up rubbish that’s been abandoned in swims. Please take this as a polite reminder to ensure all swims are clear of rubbish when your fishing session is finished and if that’s an unreasonable request find somewhere else to spend your weekends.

Hopefully today’s a one off and look forward to welcoming anglers in the coming weeks as the weather improves!

Todays Open match

Open match on the two canals today, plenty of bites and some good weights at the end of the day.

Giovanni won the match with 91.01 from Blue 3, best on red was Lewis with 54.06 from peg 10. Next best weight was Matt with 48.06, well done and thanks to all that fished.

Next open match Saturday 14th March.

Saturday match results

Club match on the Red canal and an open on the Blue canal yesterday, tough conditions with most of the pegs acting like a wind tunnel.

Jamie Foster enjoyed a good days fishing with 90.13 from blue 1 to win the open, club match was won by Keith on red 10 with a weight of 78.00.

Next open match Saturday 11 October, Sunday 19 October we have Michael Homer’s Angling for heroes match, still places available to book in for either match.

Open match on the two canals today, plenty of bites and good weights all round.

Keith Theobalds 156.12 won the day from red 4, Stu Dabbs 151.03 a close second on red 10, Dan Blackwells 118.06 was best on blue from peg 10.

Thanks to all that fished, next open Saturday 4 October.

Today’s match results

Eight anglers across the two canals today, lots of bites and some really good weights.

Dan Blackwells 227.10 from Red 7 won the day, Adam Wellors 135.09 was best on blue from peg 1 (great result on a first visit) and Keith Theobald had next best weight with 168.07 from red 4.

Open match on the canals this Saturday, £25 (£9 peg, £1 golden peg and £15 pools). Draw at 8.30, fish 10-4, send a message or call to book on.

Recent rain has bought the levels up and plenty of bites to be had.

Horseshoe and top lake available for pleasure fishing.

Reminder

A reminder that the fishery is still closed today, no entry at all please, whilst the gates are open there’s machinery operating all day.

Work due to be completed to allow us to open as normal at 8am tomorrow.
