This Sunday back in league action!!

It’s getting a bit disappointing writing all these negative posts about our football games at the moment, especially because the games we should be winning!
Embley park 4-2 Star Romsey.

Hampshire trophy week this week, again we should have won.
1-0 down to a sloppy goal and an error from keeper Tom Taylor put Embley in front. Harvey Goodridge and Aston Day were causing problems down the flanks for Embley, and we were soon on level terms, good work down the left by Goodridge crossing the ball for Aston to slot home from close range.
It wasn’t long before Star took the lead a punt up field which caught the Embley keeper out and Harvey Goodridge managed to slot the ball in from 18 yards.
Star were on top for most of the first half missing two or three vital chances to extend the lead and that came back to haunt them two minutes from the halftime whistle, defence not dealing with a simple past back to the keeper, Embley forward latch on to ball beating Star keeper Taylor at near post!
H-T 2-2
Second half was the same as the first for the first half an hour Star creating chance of chance with them falling to Harvey Goodridge and Kevin Stone, and on 55 mins Kev stone hit a ferocious shot at goal and somehow the Embley keeper made a world class save to keep it out.
With the Star not taking their chances, Embley managed to go up the other end and make it 3-2 and 4-2 very quickly, Error and mistakes by goalkeeper and defence.
Star tried to reduce the deficit but all in vain again.
Final whistle 4-2 to Embley!

Again, another great display from the lads, but unless we start taking our chances, it’s going to be a long long season.
