🌿🎣 This week’s jobs around the Headlands Lakes!

We’ve been busy clearing back the trees along the South Bank of the Bottom Lake, from swims 17–21 — and it’s looking fantastic! 👌

We’ve also been out weeding and tidying some of your favourite swims on the Top Lake, battling everything the very changeable British weather has thrown at us! ☀️🌧️

The lakes are looking great and we’re looking forward to welcoming all of our anglers and lodge guests this weekend.

A cracking capture for Robert Jenkins during a weekend session fishing swims 17 & 19 on our Top Lake. 🎣

At around 1am on Sunday morning, Robert’s rod was away from swim 19, resulting in this beautiful old original Mirror Carp – Gemini, Fish No. 1.

Regular Paul was back on Top Lake this week for another family fishing day, settling into Swim 21 and enjoying a cracking three-fish result. 🎣

First up was Fish No. 55, a lovely 16lb 2oz Mirror, followed by Fish No. 35 at 19lb 4oz.

But the best was saved until last! Just as Paul was packing down, the rod absolutely ripped off and resulted in Rosie, Fish No. 24, a beautiful Common Carp weighing 25lb on the nose. 👏🐟

Luca has had a couple of lovely Mirrors from Top Lake during two recent sessions. 🎣🙌

Earlier in the month, he landed a cracking 20lb 2oz Mirror from Swim 13 during the night.

He then returned for another session, this time fishing Swim 11 – Mirror Mound, where just before packing up at around 10am he added a lovely 14lb 2oz Mirror.

Both fish were caught on Sticky Baits Manilla with corn on the hook.

A brilliant Bank Holiday weekend result for Karen, who landed this cracking 22lb Mirror Carp and a new personal best! 🙌🎣

Fishing the left-hand margin of Swim 11 – Mirror Mound, Karen’s Sticky Baits Krill Wafter presented in a solid bag did the business at around 6am, with a handful of matching boilies scattered over the top.

There’s nothing quite like breaking your PB, especially with a lovely Top Lake mirror like this one! 💪🐟

Weather: Hot on Wednesday and Thursday, turning overcast with showers on Friday

A brilliant family session on Top Lake, with two carp and two tench landed from Swims 21 & 22! 🎣🙌

The first carp fell to Pete early on Thursday morning, weighing 17lb 6oz and tempted by an 18mm Mainline Cell boilie.

Then at around 8:30am, young Chase got in on the action, landing this cracking 19lb 14oz carp on a Parker’s Magic Bean wafter, fished over a gravel bar alongside the island.

A great bit of family fishing and lovely to hear that everyone enjoyed their stay with us so much. Thank you for the kind words — and we’re delighted the little bit of gravel-bar intel paid off! 😄🎣

We look forward to welcoming you all back to Headlands Farm for next year’s family fishing trip!

A fantastic catch for 13-year-old Charlie while staying with us at Willow Lodge! 🙌🎣

Charlie fished directly from the lodge’s private swim and landed this lovely 18lb Mirror Carp, tempted by a Tutti Fruity 15mm barrel wafter presented in a solid bag.

Even more special, this is Fish No. 61 and the first time we have a recorded catch of this fish since it was introduced to the lake from Fishers Pond Fisheries in November 2023. It’s always brilliant to see one of the fish we haven’t seen for a while turn up again and looking in great condition.

What a cracking fish and a brilliant catch to add to the memories from his stay. Well done, Charlie! 👏🐟
