A cracking session for Carl on Top Lake, fishing from the ever-productive Mirror Mound swim.

First on the mat was a stunning dark mirror carp weighing exactly 18lb (Fish 33 and hasnt been recorded since our lake netting in December 2024), falling to a Sticky Baits Krill PVA bag presentation with a Krill bottom bait topped with a yellow Krill half pop-up.

Carl wasn't finished there. He later landed this beautiful scaly mirror carp at 23lb 3oz (Fish 13 called David), caught on a Sticky Baits Krill setup with a white pop-up fished over a scattering of Krill boilies. David was first introduced from in November 2024 and last caught in April 2025.

Two quality mirror carp, spot-on baiting tactics, and another memorable session on Top Lake. Well done Carl! πŸ‘πŸŸ

Paul had the one run from Swim 23, but what a fish it turned out to be! A stunning 28lb common and a brand-new personal best for him 🐟πŸ”₯

He wasnt sure if it had been named but whilst consulting our Fish Bible we have identified it as Fish number 8 and previously named "Kelly" Last caught in August 2025 and we are very happy that despite spawning she has put on weight since her last catch! Paul said he is "absolutely over the moon with it... Proper battle and well worth the wait!"

Steven and his dad put together another solid session on Bottom Lake from Peg 5.

2 carp landed to 15lb, with 3 more lost along the way.

Action didn't stop there, with bream to 6lb, tench to 3lb, plus plenty of perch and silvers keeping the rods busy.

Only their second visit to Headlands Farm, but it sounds like they'll be back for more.

It's always lovely to hear such kind feedback from our anglers, and this message really made our day from Paul and Charlotte who had a great night session on Bottom Lake fishing Carp Straits:

"Thank you for having me and Charlotte at your lakes again. Such a beautiful place to be. We absolutely love it there and you guys are awesome and welcoming, thank you. It's such a beautiful place to be. We can't wait to come back and we're already talking about another weekend in the lodges in the near future."

Kane enjoyed an incredible 48-hour session last week from Swim 20 on our Top Lake, banking an amazing 9 carp – including several fish that haven’t been seen for years and some that may not have been caught since our records began in 2021! πŸ‘πŸŸ

⭐ 22lb Mirror – Fish No. 29 (not seen since netting in Dec 2022). Kane has named her Arlo.

⭐ 21lb 6oz Mirror – Fish No. 31 (last caught Feb 2025).

⭐ 20lb 2oz Mirror – Fish No. 36 (not seen since Dec 2022). Kane has named this one Les.

⭐ 17lb 8oz Mirror – Fish No. 83 (last seen Aug 2025).

⭐ 16lb Mirror – Fish No. 30 (last seen Dec 2024).

⭐ 15lb 4oz Common – Fish No. 37 (not seen since Dec 2022).

⭐ 12lb Common – Fish No. 58 (not seen since Dec 2022).

⭐ 12lb Mirror – Fish No. 55 (not recorded since being introduced from Fishers Pond in Nov 2023).

⭐ 12lb Common – Fish No. 63 (not seen since Dec 2022).

What’s most exciting is that 6 of these fish were either undocumented in our Fish Bible or hadn’t been seen for several years, and all were in fantastic condition apart from a few minor spawning scrapes. It’s brilliant to see these fish thriving and continuing to grow. πŸ’šπŸŸ

For a lake that can often be challenging and regularly sends anglers home empty-handed, this is one seriously impressive haul. Could it be a Top Lake record? We may need to consult the history books and see what the mighty Wes has to say! πŸ‘€πŸ†

A little bonus fact: all of the commons caught are original fish to the lake – none have been introduced.

🎯 All fish were caught on Mainline Yellow Pop-Ups.

Alex enjoyed a fantastic 48-hour session over the weekend on our Top Lake, fishing the North Bank swims β€” and the fish were certainly on the feed! πŸ‘πŸŸ

Over the course of the session, he landed three carp:

🐟 Common Carp – 15lb (possibly fish no. 63)
🐟 Mirror Carp – 14lb (fish no. 74… first time we have her caught on record since introduced in Nov 2020)
⭐ β€œGemini” – 24lb

It’s great to see the fish feeding confidently again following the recent spawning period, with catches steadily coming through across the lake. πŸ’ͺ🌿

Good news... Bottom Lake is now back open! πŸ‘Œ

We've seen no further signs of spawning activity, and the fish are beginning to settle back into their usual routines.

As always, fish welfare comes first. If you notice any fish spawning or splashing around in a particular area while you're fishing, please avoid casting into that zone and give them plenty of space.
