Ampfield & North Baddesley Cricket Club A friendly village cricket club, founded in 1888. The village of Ampfield is situated between Romsey and Hursley.

Ampfield and North Baddesley CC, a friendly club, with three Saturday sides in the Hampshire Cricket League, midweek Border League & Southampton Evening League sides and four Colts teams at U9 & U11s level. We currently run two Saturday teams, playing in the Hampshire Cricket League and a midweek side playing in the Border League on Tuesday Evenings. Our home ground, Ampfield Recreation

Ground is set in idyllic surroundings on Wi******er Road (A3090), next to The White Horse Pub, which is visible from the road. We warmly welcome any new members, regardless of ability (it’s enthusiasm that counts) who would be interested in playing for us. We encourage anyone and everyone to visit us – including our long-suffering wives, girlfriends and families! We also give a warm welcome to all visiting players and supporters.

🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS ROUND-UP 🏏

A mixed weekend for Ampfield & North Baddesley CC, with the 2nd XI continuing their strong start to the season with a convincing win, while the 1st XI battled hard in difficult conditions and the 3rd XI showed plenty of fight despite a tough result.

🔥 2ND XI WIN 🔥

The standout result of the weekend came at Ampfield, where the 2nd XI secured an excellent victory over Godshill.

A superb bowling performance restricted the visitors to 154, with a special mention for Balla, who claimed his first 5-wicket haul for the club 👏🎯

The chase was then dominated by Ben Hatcher, whose outstanding unbeaten 86 guided the side home comfortably inside 24 overs. A complete performance and another deserved win for the seconds against an unbeaten side to move up in the table.

🔴1ST XI BATTLE HARD IN THE HEAT

The 1st XI came up just short after a hard-fought game away at Paultons.

Captain’s comments summed it up perfectly:

“A tough result yesterday, but plenty of positives to take from a hard-fought game. We were in control for long periods and gave ourselves a real chance, but credit to the opposition, they took their key moments well and finished strongly to deserve the win.

With the bat, Ramnik and Shiv once again led the way and continued their excellent form this season. The bowling group also put in a solid shift in difficult conditions, showing good effort and commitment throughout.

A disappointing result, but the spirit and fight were there. Plenty still to play for, and we’ll look to bounce back stronger next week.”

🔴3RD XI

The result didn’t quite go our way for the 3rd XI, but there were still plenty of positives to take. The side continued to compete hard throughout the afternoon and showed the determination and spirit that has been building across all three teams this season.

One win, plenty of strong individual performances, and lots of encouraging signs across the club as we head into another big weekend of cricket.

Tough evening yesterday for the Border League 2nd XI as Cadnam Border League 2nd XI chased down our 94/5 in quick time to win by 9 wickets.

Despite the result, there were still positives to take from the game with the lads battling hard and sticking together throughout.

🏏 23rd May 2026 — The day Chairman Dave’s dream came true… ALL 3 of our men’s adult sides won! 🏏🔥

A brilliant day for Ampfield & North Baddesley CC, with victories for the 1st XI, 2nd XI and 3rd XI in the Bank Holiday sunshine ☀️🍻

The first win of the day came from our 2nd XI, who produced a stunning bowling performance to skittle Michelmersh & Timsbury 2nds for just 72 in 29.2 overs. After the pressure was built brilliantly by the economical opening bowlers, first change pair Club legend Andy Holding (6/21) and skipper Sam Fielding (3/13) tore through the middle order. A special mention to Andy Holding for claiming the club’s first 5-wicket haul in two seasons 🎉

Then the 3rd XI brought home another deserved victory against Easton & Martyr Worthy. An excellent batting display, backed up by disciplined bowling, proved too much for the hosts. Contributions came all around the side, but standout performances came from Vikash Shah, scoring his first 50 for Ampfield 👏, alongside Steve Noton and Jon Course, who both claimed 3 wickets apiece

Finally, the 1st XI completed the perfect day. After a long, gruelling stint in the field in the heat, they battled through some rough patches to bowl Old Netley & Highfield all out for 228. The soaring temperatures even managed to take down arguably our fittest player, Shilpan, with cramp after a stalwart opening stand

Despite the heat (which took out our fittest player Shilpan with cramp after a stalwart opening stand), ex-skipper D Bradbury took full advantage of the lightning-fast outfield with a classy 73, before Shiv produced a swashbuckling unbeaten 76* to guide the team home in style 💥🏏

Great vibes at the club after the games with all the lads coming back to HQ for food and drink till the early hours

Strong and promising performances all round from every side — hopefully the first of many successful Saturdays this season

With the heat wave arriving just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend, there’s no better way to spend your Saturday than supporting the lads in the sunshine! 🍻🌞

Our Border League 2nd XI were involved in the only league fixture to beat the weather last night. Unfortunately, they came up against a strong Cadnam side who proved too good on the day.

There were still plenty of positives to take from the match, with some standout performances across the team. A special mention goes to our two Under 13s, making their debuts for the side. Both were the pick of the bowling, showing skill and consistency to pick up key wickets throughout the innings.

Another shoutout goes to our skipper, Iain, whose unbeaten 39 was an unexpected highlight. His innings included a superb off drive for 6, and had more than a few people questioning who was actually batting!
