Hi everyone,

Just a quick update, I know testing for Covid isn't routine anymore, but given how much close contact my work involves, I felt it was only right to let you know I've tested positive.

I'm not well enough to work at the moment anyway, so all sessions are on hold until I'm feeling better. I'll stay in touch and let you know as soon as I'm back on my feet, at that point it'll be entirely your choice whether you'd rather wait a little longer or come in as normal.

If your scales are reading higher in this heatwave, don't panic, It's not fat gain.

In hot weather your body naturally holds onto more fluid to help regulate temperature and maintain hydration.

Add in more sweating, changes in electrolyte balance, more carbohydrates, a few drinks, more activity, exercise related inflammation ...and the scale can jump surprisingly quickly.

To gain 1kg of body fat overnight would require thousands of calories above your normal intake.
So if the scale is up after a hot day, a BBQ, a meal out or a busy weekend, don't assume you've undone all your hard work.

Look at the trend, not the day.

Hydrate, keep doing the basics well, and give your body a few days to settle.
The scale measures weight, It doesn't measure progress.

I’ve got a horse that needs me to be better, so I train legs, core, mobility, all of it.
I know you’re busy. Yard, work, life… you’re already exhausted.
But a couple of hours a week will change how you ride completely.
Stronger rider = better horse. Simple.
