🏆 SILURES HOLD THEIR NERVE IN A DRAMATIC LEAGUE FINALE!

What. A. Finish.

The title deciding game of the season saw Silures host a travelling Risca Rebels, knowing the equation couldn’t have been any simpler win all four quarters and take all 8 points, or the title belonged to Risca Vets.

But there was nothing simple about what followed.

The Vets had even made the trip over in their minibus to cheer on the Rebels, knowing that just one drawn or lost quarter for Silures would be enough to crown them champions.

With the pressure firmly on, Silures somehow kept finding a way.

Quarter after quarter went their way, until they had secured the first three.

6 points secured. One quarter left.

Everything came down to the final 15 minutes and then the Rebels struck. Two quick tries. Suddenly Silures’ title hopes were hanging by a thread. After an entire season, they needed to turn around a two-try deficit in the remaining minutes or watch the championship slip away at the final hurdle.

What followed was an extraordinary finish. Silures pulled one back. Then another and with the season on the line, they found a third try in the second half of the quarter to complete the comeback and somehow take the final quarter.

SILURES 8–0 REBELS

The scoreline tells you almost nothing about this game.

Four quarter wins. Maximum 8 league points. But Silures were pushed right to the edge to get them.

They finish the season on 39 points, level with Risca Vets after six games and an incredible title race that has gone all the way to the wire. Wining the title on a tie break of tries scored in total with Silures getting 75 vs 63 to Risca Vets.

For the Rebels, it was a painful end to what had been an unbeaten campaign heading into the final night. They finish their inaugural league season on 26 points, with plenty to be proud of from their first campaign.

For Silures, though, it was the exact performance they needed when absolutely nothing less would do.

A dramatic end to a cracking inaugural season and probably a few more grey hairs for everyone involved. 😂🏉

🏆 THE TITLE DECIDER IS SET. 🏆

After months of fixtures, tries, quarter wins, draws and dropped points, we’re down to this.

⏰ 7:00PM Kick-Off
🔥 Silures vs Risca Rebels

Both teams play their final game of the inaugural South East Wales Touch Rugby League season Friday and the stakes could hardly be higher.

The silverware is polished. It’s ready to be handed over.

But to who? 👀

Silures still have their fingertips on the trophy, but there is absolutely NO margin for error.

They need a complete clean sweep.

🔥 8 POINTS OR NOTHING.

Win all four quarters and Silures draw level with Risca Vets on league points, triggering the tie-break where total tries scored would hand Silures the inaugural league title.

But drop just ONE league point to the Rebels…

🏆 RISCA VETS ARE CHAMPIONS.

And don’t think the Rebels are simply there to make up the numbers.

Their title hopes may be gone, but 2nd place is still within reach.

A huge 7-point performance would secure the Rebels second place.

Take 6 points and they draw level with Caldicot Silver Geese.

Anything less and they could be looking at a 4th-place finish.

So the equation is set.

🔵 Silures — 8 points to take the title.
⚫ Risca Vets — waiting and hoping for one dropped Silures point.
🔴 Risca Rebels — chasing 7 points and a runners-up finish.

One game.

Four quarters.

A league title, a runners-up position and almost the final standings all hanging in the balance.

The anticipation is palpable.

Friday, our first South East Wales Touch Rugby League season gets its winners.

🏆 NOW THE DUST HAS SETTLED… THE ROAD TO THE TITLE IS CLEAR.

But there is one final twist.

Experience triumphed in one of the biggest games of the season as Risca Vets edged Silures 5–3, taking two quarters to Silures’ one, with the other ending level.

The Vets have done everything they can.

Their season is complete.
39 points on the board.
And one hand firmly on the trophy. 🏆

But they aren’t champions. Not yet.

Silures still have one final route to the title but there is now absolutely ZERO margin for error.

Their final game against Risca Rebels has become all or nothing.

🔥 SILURES MUST TAKE ALL 8 POINTS.

Do that and they move level with the Vets on 39 points, triggering a tie-break situation to decide our inaugural champions.

But if the Rebels take even a single league point from the game…

It’s over. Risca Vets are champions.

One final game.

Silures need perfection.
The Vets can only watch.

Maximum. Pressure. 👀🏆

🏆 TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT. 🏆

The entire season has been building towards this.

Two teams remain.
Two teams can still become champions.
Tonight, they finally meet.

🔥 RISCA VETS vs SILURES 🔥

One of the most fiercely contested fixtures in the league only this time, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

For Risca Vets, this is it. Their final game. Their final opportunity. They currently sit on 34 points and know exactly what they need to do.

⚫ 6+ POINTS — RISCA VETS ARE CHAMPIONS.

Secure six or more tonight and it’s done. No permutations. No waiting for another result. The Vets become the inaugural South East Wales Touch Rugby League Champions.

But Silures have their own route to glory.

🔵 8 POINTS — SILURES ARE CHAMPIONS.

A four-quarter sweep tonight would give Silures the title, regardless of what happens in their final fixture against the Risca Rebels.

Anything less and things get very interesting.

Silures need to take at least 4 points tonight to keep their title challenge alive. Do that, and everything comes down to their final game against the Rebels.

So this is where we are.

🏆 Two title contenders.
🔥 One massive showdown.
⚫ The Vets’ final stand.
🔵 Silures fighting to take it tonight or live to fight one more game.

Every touch matters.
Every try matters.
Every quarter matters.

Months of rugby have brought us here.

Tonight, we could crown our first ever champions.

Or we could set up one final showdown…

Risca Vets vs Silures.

This is the big one.

Another one in the books and the title race keeps tightening. 🏉🔥

Silures welcomed Hafodyrynys Rams for a competitive encounter, with Hafod battling right to the end.

The Rams produced a strong defensive performance, working hard to contain the speed and flow of Silures throughout the game. But Silures eventually found the answers, taking all four quarters and securing the maximum 8 league points.

That result moves Silures into 3rd place and puts them firmly in the title race.

But now comes the real test…

Silures face both Risca sides next.

First up, their closest title rivals Risca Vets in a fixture that could have a massive say in who finishes the season as champions.

Then come the Risca Rebels. Their own title challenge may be over, but they now have the opportunity to play kingmakers and seriously disrupt Silures’ ambitions.

As for Hafodyrynys, they have one final game remaining against CIAC Bostons and with final league positions still to be decided, there is plenty left to play for there too.

We’re into the business end now.

Every quarter. Every point. Every result.

It all matters.

The finish line is getting closer… and the fixtures are coming thick and fast. 🏉🔥

Next up, title contenders Silures welcome the travelling Hafodyrynys Rams in another crucial South East Wales Touch Rugby League clash.

For Silures, the equation is simple every quarter and every point matters as they continue their push for the title.

The Rams may be out of championship contention, but don’t mistake that for having nothing to play for.

They could have a HUGE say in where the trophy ends up.

If Hafodyrynys can steal a quarter or more from Silures, those dropped points could completely change the complexion of the title race.

Silures need the points.
The Rams have the opportunity to disrupt the race.

Plenty still to play for. 👀

Two more fixtures complete… and the league table has been turned on its head. 📊🔥

The evening got underway with CIAC Bostons travelling to Cwmbran.

After four closely fought quarters, the points were shared in a 4-4 draw, lifting the Bostons off the foot of the table while Cwmbran remain in 5th place.

Then came the heavyweight clash.

Risca Vets vs Caldicot Silver Geese.

With the title race on the line, the Vets produced a huge performance, defeating the Geese 7 points to 1 and throwing the championship wide open.

The result leaves Risca Vets in a strong position to sn**ch the league title, while Caldicot’s hopes are now effectively over.

But it’s far from decided.

The Vets still need to overcome Silures in what could prove to be the defining fixture of the season. They’ll also be hoping for favourable results elsewhere, with Hafodyrynys and the Rebels both capable of influencing the final outcome when they face Silures.

Silures remain the team with the biggest opportunity.

They still have three games to play and 24 league points available.

The title race is alive.

Who will hold their nerve?

The finish line is in sight… and every point matters. 🏉🔥

Tonight, CIAC Bostons make the trip to Cwmbran for another crucial South East Wales Touch Rugby League fixture.

With the league entering its final stages, there’s no room for complacency.

Cwmbran will be looking to climb the table and finish their campaign strongly, while the Bostons will be determined to build on recent performances and add some valuable points to their tally.

Every quarter could prove decisive.
Every point could change the final standings.

As the title race and league positions continue to tighten, expect another competitive evening of touch rugby.

Another fixture complete… and we have a new league leader. 📈🏉

Last night, CIAC Bostons welcomed a travelling Caldicot Silver Geese side to the capital in another entertaining encounter.

The quarters were fiercely contested, with both teams showing plenty of determination, but when it mattered most, the Geese found another gear.

A full 8-point haul sees Caldicot climb back to the top of the South East Wales Touch Rugby League, putting themselves in the driving seat as the season enters its final stages.

But the biggest test is still to come.

Next up for the Geese is Risca Vets a fixture that could have a huge say in where this year’s league title ends up.

First vs one of the form teams in the competition.

It doesn’t get much bigger than that.
