Another round complete. 🌧️🏉

On Monday night, Cwmbran Crows welcomed the Caldicot Silver Geese in a fixture where the weather was determined to make itself the star of the show.

Despite torrential rain and difficult conditions, both sides put in a tremendous effort and produced some excellent touch rugby. Handling was tested, fitness was challenged, and commitment was never in doubt.

When the final whistle blew, it was the Silver Geese who came away smiling.

Caldicot secured another maximum haul, winning all four quarters and claiming the full 8 points on offer to continue their push at the top end of the table.

Credit must go to both teams for serving up a competitive game in conditions that would have tested any side.

With more big fixtures still to come, the race for league positions remains wide open.

Monday night results are in and the table has been shaken up again. 📊🔥

Risca Rebels welcomed Cwmbran for a fast and fiercely contested clash. Despite the tight nature of the game, the Rebels showed real control in key moments, running in 11 tries to Cwmbran’s 3.

Result?
A full 4-quarter sweep and their first maximum 8-point win of the season.

Meanwhile, Risca Vets continued their relentless form with yet another 4-quarter victory. The Vets crossed the line 11 times compared to Hafodyrynys’ 2, securing another huge 8 point haul and keeping their momentum rolling.

The top four places have now been reshuffled once again and with plenty of fixtures still to play, nothing is decided yet.

This league keeps moving.

Risca Vets made a statement on Friday night with a full 4-quarter win over CIAC Bostons, taking the maximum 8 points and pushing their campaign forward in style.

Composed, clinical, and controlled.

The Vets scored 11 tries across the night, with the Bostons battling hard and replying with 4 of their own.

Attention now turns to Monday night.

The Vets head to Hafodyrynys looking to keep that momentum rolling but can the Rams slow them down and reignite their own campaign?

The table is tightening up too.

Risca Vets now sit level with Caldicot Geese on wins, draws, and points.

Pressure building.

Three games.
Three huge clashes.
24 league points up for grabs this weekend.

First up tonight at 7PM, Risca Vets welcome CIAC Bostons in a rescheduled fixture from March. Two strong sides with plenty still to play for as they look to climb the table.

But the Vets don’t stop there.

On Monday 11th May they head up the valley to face Hafodyrynys Rams two teams that know each other inside out. Expect intensity from the first whistle.

Meanwhile at Stores Field, the action keeps rolling as Risca Rebels welcome the Cwmbran Crows on Monday night. Another massive fixture with serious implications for the table.

No easy games.
No room to slip.
This league is heating up fast.

Match recap. As tight as it gets. ⚖️

CIAC Bostons vs Risca Rebels in a clash in the Capitol and this was pure grit.

Both sides came in stretched. Injuries on both benches, with the Rebels even blooding 3 debutants just to get to an 11-player squad.

Didn’t matter.

The Bostons brought intensity and refused to drop off.
The Rebels matched it, step for step.

Result?
All four quarters ended in a draw.

You don’t see that often.

It’s the kind of game where one moment either way changes everything but neither side gave an inch.

What it means:

CIAC Bostons get points on the board and move into 5th, with 4 games still to play.
Risca Rebels climb back into 2nd, with 3 games remaining.

Still wide open.
Still everything to play for.

Weekend recap. One-sided and ruthless. ⚠️

Silures vs CIAC Bostons and this was domination, plain and simple.

Silures ran in 20 tries across four quarters, taking another clean sweep and the full 8 points.
The Bostons managed just 1 try in reply a tough night, made harder by injuries and a thin squad.

That result sends Silures to the top of the table on 16 points, now sitting 5 clear of Caldicot… with that clash still to come.

As for CIAC Bostons it’s not over.

They’re back in action tonight against the Risca Rebels.
Two sides new to each other.

Bostons at home.
Rebels potentially short-handed.

Opportunity knocks.

The Rebels need a result to stay in the fight but this won’t be easy.

Caldicot jump to the top after a full 8-point haul against the Rams no half measures, straight to #1.

They now sit 5 points clear of Cwmbran, who drop to 2nd.
But that gap could close quickly.

Cwmbran face Silures this Sunday a chance to take control back… or lose more ground if Silures arrive with intent and make a statement.

Then Friday night: Risca vs Risca.
Rebels vs Vets.

Is this where experience takes over… or do the Rebels push themselves further up the table?

Everything still in play.
No one is safe.

Last night Hafodyrynys welcomed Caldicot Silver Geese to the Rams pen and the visitors turned up with serious intent.

Pace. Pressure. Ruthless ex*****on.

The Geese ran in 11 tries and dominated across all four quarters, taking a clean sweep and the full 8 points on offer.

No debate. No scraps left behind.

Caldicot now move to the top of the table on 11 points.

Early days… but that’s a marker laid down.
