Welcome to Upnor Sailing Club
The club was established in 1962, the present Clubhouse was constructed in Lower Upnor at a later stage by the refurbishment of three traditional waterfront cottages. This was achieved through the devoted efforts of the members, and the Club now owns a property with superb views of the Medway, along with an enclosed car parking space. The Club has a strong tradition
of self-help and all members are expected to contribute time and skills in helping to maintain the fabric of the Clubhouse, all-tide landing and moorings, including security patrols, helping behind the bar etc. Such activities are generally enjoyable and contribute towards making the Club a friendly, co-operative and a close knit community. Social
Throughout the year the club hosts a wide range of functions which are organized by the social committee. These events range from Barbecues during the summer to themed parties and formal dinners. Members may also book and use the club facilities for their own private functions. The majority of the functions are held during the off season as during the summer month most people tend to be on cruises. The club house opens regularly on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. During the Summer the Sundays tend to be slightly later when people return from the weekend cruises. During February and March the club tends to open on Friday evenings as well where we tend to organize informal talk evenings.
