🏆 A first round W in the Perman
A fantastic start to our Perman Shield campaign with a superb victory over Royal Blackheath!
The team set the tone with a clean sweep in the morning matches before producing another strong performance in the afternoon singles.
Special mentions to Harry Fryer for an outstanding 7&5 win, while Matt Cozens and Richard Fung-On both secured impressive victories. It was also a memorable debut for Ollie and Harry, who led the team out in the morning and delivered a winning start in Rochester & Cobham colours. The youngest combined age pairing we’ve ever had in our perman shield team.
Another standout moment came in the singles, where Jack Lee secured a brilliant 3&2 victory over the son of Peter McEvoy – the very man whose trophy he famously won back-to-back.
The team spirit throughout the day was incredible and a huge factor in the result. Thank you to Tom McManus for supporting the team all day as reserve, along with Mike Bush, members of the Professional Team, and all the members who came out to support. It was especially great to see Bob Florence back on his feet and cheering the team on.
Next up: Dartford away - Tomorrow!
