What an incredible journey it has been for our TOTs & Mini Kicks groups! 🥹👏🏻

From some of their very first kicks of a football, to growing in confidence, making new friends and developing a real love for the game! We could not be prouder of every single child! 🌟

For some of our TOTs, the next step is now into Mini Kicks, where they’ll continue their development and experience more small-sided football. ⚽️

And for our Mini Kicks… it’s time for their next BIG adventure! 🔥

They’ll now progress into THREE Wilkis JFC teams ready to begin their 3v3 journeys:

🦅 Wilkis JFC Eagles
🐉 Wilkis JFC Dragons
🦁 Wilkis JFC Lions

Seeing these children progress from our development sessions into their very first teams is exactly what our pathway is all about. We can’t wait to watch their journeys continue! 🖤💛

The impact Matt has had on these groups goes far beyond teaching football. He has created an environment where the children feel comfortable to express themselves, learn, make mistakes, have fun and fall in love with the game.

His patience, enthusiasm and commitment every single week has helped bring out confidence and personality in so many of our young players. For a child, those first experiences in football can shape how they feel about the game for years to come and Matt has made sure theirs have been filled with smiles, encouragement and brilliant memories. ❤️⚽️

We’re incredibly lucky to have him and so proud of what he has helped create. 🙏🏻

AMAZING TOTs & Mini Kicks 💫🖤💛🌟

What a brilliant few months it has been for our TOTs & Mini Kicks groups! 🙌🏻⚽️

We’ve loved seeing the children grow in confidence, have fun and develop their football skills every week. From their first touches and dribbling to passing, shooting and playing with their friends, the progress has been fantastic! 💛🖤

🏆 MINI KICKS

Our Mini Kicks players will soon be stepping into 3 teams ready for their new 3v3 season! ⚽️🔥

We are incredibly proud of every player and cannot wait to see how they continue to develop and enjoy their football. We wish them all the very best as they take this next step in their journeys! 👏🏻

⭐ TOTs

From 12th Sept our TOTs will move into our Mini Kicks sessions, where they’ll be introduced to small-sided games alongside their development work in a longer 1-hour session.

We currently have spaces available for players to join our Mini Kicks programme! 🙌🏻

To be nominated for a Rochdale Borough Active Award is an honour in itself, but to be named as a finalist is something I’m incredibly proud of. 💛🖤

The Rochdale Borough Active Awards are a brilliant celebration of the people, clubs and organisations who go above and beyond to support sport, physical activity and their local communities! It recognises those who dedicate their time and passion to making a positive impact.

At Wilkis, making an impact is always at the forefront of what we do. It’s about creating opportunities, supporting player development and building a positive environment where young people can enjoy football and grow.

This recognition reflects the journey Wilkis has been on. None of this would be possible without the amazing team of coaches I have around me, alongside the continued support from our players, parents and my family.

This nomination isn’t just for me — it’s for the whole Wilkis family. Every coach, player, parent and supporter who has helped us build something special.

I’m truly grateful to coach and support player development across Rochdale and proud to represent our club at this year’s awards.

🖤💛WILKIS JFC GIRLS TEAMS – NOW RECRUITING 🖤💛

We are incredibly excited to announce our girls football programme! We are now looking for players to join our sessions and help form new teams for the upcoming season! ⚽️🌟

We are currently recruiting for:
- U11s – Year 6 at school
- U9s – Year 4 at school

🏆 Games will be played on Sundays in the MYSL Girls League – a central venue in Manchester where all league fixtures are held.

⚽ Training will take place midweek (TBC).

At Wilkis JFC, our aim is simple: support as many girls as possible within our local communities to enjoy and develop through football.
Our programme is designed to be:

📈 Player-development led
🤝 Inclusive and supportive for all abilities

WILKIS JFC SEASON 1 AWARDS PRESENTATION! 🏆 ⚽️ 🖤💛

This weekend marked our 1st end of season awards day and what a weekend it was! An amazing time to celebrate our brilliant players and coaches for their season at Wilkis! 🖤💛

As we reflect on Saturday’s presentation day, we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our junior football club throughout our first season at Wilkis.👏🏻👏🏻

To our incredible parents, thank you for your unwavering commitment, encouragement, and support week in, week out. From training sessions to match days and everything in between, we couldn’t do it without you.

To our fantastic players, we are so proud of every single one of you. Your hard work, determination, and enthusiasm throughout the season have been inspiring to watch. 🌟 The progress and developments you’ve made, both on and off the pitch, has been amazing, and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. 👏🏻

To our dedicated coaches, thank you for the countless hours you give behind the scenes. Your passion, patience, and commitment to helping every player grow and creating such brilliant opportunities for them is truly appreciated. The impact you have on these young players goes far beyond football.

A massive thank you also goes to our sponsors, everyone who generously donated raffle prizes, and every single person who bought raffle tickets or supported the event. Your generosity was incredible, and together we raised an amazing £850 in just one evening! That money will make a real difference to the club and help us continue providing opportunities for our players.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey this season. The support from our club community has been overwhelming, and we’re so excited to build on a fantastic first season at Wilkis. Here’s to many more memories, friendships, and successes together.
